I've watched a number of engraving videos, but still found it a daunting prospect coming from a Joy to a brand new, unused CM3. For some reason, your video was so simple, clear and easy understand! 💡 (eg. Explaining why you move the wheels to the side.) I do have a question though. Why did you choose not to engrave as a mirror image on the back so the front is beautifully smooth? 00

I'm so glad you found this helpful! Just a personal preference I guess. I think you can see it a little better this way but you're right you do get the ridges.

Can i use normal mat?

Yes, but make sure you tape the piece down well so it sticks.

I want to engrave on acrylic. I have the Joy and and was wondering if anyone had tried to actually engraved acrylic using the Joy, like a bookmark?

This tool is not compatible with the Joy, and the machine doesn't have enough pressure to engrave.
