The first 30 seconds of this video really hit home for me. I picked up golf this summer after not playing for many years. My younger brother has terminal cancer and golf is how we reconnected and I get to spend some really quality time with him before he is gone. It is a good reminder as I go to play today that my score or how I hit my 3rd shot on hole 5 doesn't matter. I get to play golf with good people today, what a good day.

Wow, that advice in the intro was maybe the best I've ever received. That not only works for golf but life in general. Treat every round as if it may be your last.

Rocky Houghtaling You are so right Rocky, I’ve played the final round of golf with three guys (two knew it was to be their last). The memory of those games morphed into why I treat each time out as special. I’d like to be remembered for great pace, sportsmanship and just the right amount of conversation.

Here's a thought. You've got 18 holes and chances to express your gratitude about someone or something. How about each tee box you think about one thing you're grateful for...sounds like a great mindset to stay in when teeing off that hole.

This has got to be the most thought provoking thing I have seen on KZbin. Not only about golf but life in general, I have read nearly all the comments and it was emotional, I have no health issues I have no one that I am aware of that is sick, I work I am ok money wise, makes me think what a idiot I have been in how I sometimes look at things. thank you so much.

The opening statements were spot on. There is so much to appreciate when I go out to play. I love to see the expanse of green grass in the summertime to the dormant grass in the winter. There is a lot of time to look inward while playing. Even when playing with others, I’m able to think about so many things, which helps to keep my mind off of golf between shots. I’m so grateful for a wife that has no issues with the amount of golf that I play.

Having spent two years off work suffering with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/ME and not being able to hit a single ball I can wholeheartedly agree. I played 18 (with the help of a buggy) last Sunday and it was the best experience I've ever had on the golf course. Played rubbish but had the best time ever. Simply forgot about what I did right or wrong and just enjoyed the experience

I brought an elderly member (2 yrs not playing & a health concern) out yesterday. His joy at seeing the place again was infectious and I shot my best round in three years. (Humorous takeaway - took five holes to get him to STOP attending the flagstick & explained the rule change)

Really cool video Pete. It’s easy to not be thankful for everything we have, and seeing that in relations to golf was nice. Great stuff. I remember when i got sick and i thought i wasn't going to be able to play again, i sold my clubs. After i got better i began to work on my swing and after several weeks i went out and played 9 holes with some friends. I shot even par and my friends said to me you really played well for being out for a while. I looked at them and said im just glad im healthy and that i can come out here and enjoy this great game. Playing golf is the only time that I don't think about life's troubles and heartaches whether I play well or poorly. We all go through life's tribulations and it's so true that we have a finite number of rounds.

Great video. I've noticed most people don't truly enjoy a day at the course. Golf is supposed to be fun and relaxing. Obviously we aren't professionals, so why not take every game and try to learn something new.
@garybrumley35195 жыл бұрын
Micheal Hudson I totally agree. I’ve played with so many guys over the years that get so frustrated when they play badly, rather than enjoying being out on a beautiful course with friends. It’s these friends who play sporadic golf and never practice or take lessons.
@michealhudson45155 жыл бұрын
@@garybrumley3519 yup. I play scrambles with my son every Tuesday and Saturday and I see guys breaking clubs or throwing them. I take at least 6 balls with me and if I hit a stinker so be it. I just love watching my son take to the game. And the old timers we play with take special interest in my son giving him tips and tricks. Plus they keep him laughing which keeps him from getting to upset

Very nice conversation. Do I wait to be able to play well before I can feel good on the golf course? Playing well, I guess is the bonus for recreational players. For me, I've always enjoyed the outdoors and especially the beautiful greenery, which is the main reason I knew I would go back to playing golf after a 10-year hiatus.

I stopped keeping score years ago. I remember, I think it was Pat Bradley, who said armatures should hit until they are happy. Of course this does not mean that you should hold any body up. But, if you are not pleased with a particular shot, and you have the time, hit another one. Purists heads are exploding I know, but I never have a bad round of golf, I won't allow it. The result is I love every round I play and that is what I play for. Relaxation and FUN!

Every time you guys try to bring sense to the average golfer; sometimes you miss, why are you talking about fun golf from a 195 yard pr three, for the average joe? Why? You’re saying you are going to give tips on how a 20+ plus handicap can hit a green with a 2hy or 5 wood? They can’t hit the green with a 7i much less a 2hy. Why can’t you see that? The first thing to do is tell that 20-handicapper to give themselves a chance and take on a 150-160 yard shot from the tee. What’s wrong with you? You English are starting to worry me in the common sense dept. my best, mates.
