This is the only helpful video online for this problem. Every other solution has been to register a stereo code into Honda website. I’m not sure if that’s completely redundant or if it’s for a different issue. However, I Didn’t find this video until weeks after solving the problem. I happened to have that same code number on a sticker inside my fuse box cover

Hahaha... When you buy the car brand new, the sticker is not supposed to be placed there. The owner is supposed to get the the card with the sticker. The owner is supposed to keep it in a safe place. Most owners don't know about it, so the dealer just place it there for the owners.

It did I've had my car since 07 and the battery died and I couldn't even tell you where the little piece of paper with the code went and when you said that it was on the side of the glove box and I opened it and saw it man big smiles, 👍👍👍

If your first three digit of your VIN is JHL or JHM, then your vehicle was made in Japan. I'm not sure if the website only accept cars manufactured in the US. You might have to go to the dealership to get the code.

For a USDM 7th generation Civic, the code should be 5 digits. I suspect that the 8 digit code is the system's serial number. You bring the serial number to the Honda dealership and they will provide you the code. If you enter the code incorrectly 10 times, you will need to leave the system on for 1 hour. Hope this helps.

I would guess it is one of two things. 1- Stereo is going bad. It is cheap to replace. 2- The connection is bad. You would have to pull the stereo out to check. The CD player on my stereo is starting to give me problems too.

Is that the number on the card? If not, it is probably the serial number. To get the serial number, you turn the key two clicks, hold down the number 1 and 6 and power. If you don't have the code, you MIGHT have to go to the dealership with the serial number and VIN. Hope that helps.

I think the stereo have been locked already. BUT if you haven't been locked out, you can try this... Turn the ignition to on (don't start the car). Press AND HOLD the power button that is on the volume knob.
