If you are having troubles and its not working, try only releasing the vol. down button while keeping the power button pressed. It was the only way that I could get it to work.

For those who failing to get to reset screen... Only remove your finger from power button and then press again... keep holding volume down key continuesly

For anyone with a Vs985 hold down the Power and the volume down. Once you see the LG Logo release and press them again. Keep pressing them until the screen goes black and comes back on and then keep hold them. Then you will be brought to the selection screen.

Hi how can I tell if I have stock recovery or twrp recovery? I dont want to select 'Yes' for "erase all user data & restore default settings" if it means I will lose everthing on my ph! Im just trying to "clear cache partition" because the ph wont read the sd card (the storage/sd card section is 'grayed out'. Can anyone help please?

This is not recovery mode. You are giving the steps for a factory reset. Even if your phone is not modded, you can still get into all the recovery options menu. What you are instructing people to do is do a complete factory reset on their phone without giving them the chance to at least wipe the data cache partition....

I've flashed my twrp recovery but how will i know that is it there or not i don't want to risk hitting yes when it asks to erase everything and then finding out i don't have twrp. Is there a way to confirm that the twrp recovery is there??

you are showing people how to erase their LG and calling it "entering recovery mode" make sure that you are intune with your intentions.

Hi I dont know the diff between stock recovery or twrp recovery.....the dude said if my device is on stock recovery mode then it will wipe all data. But if its twrp recovery it wont wipe all data. How can I tell if I have stock or twrp? I just want to enter recovery mode so I can clear the cache partition because my device wont recognise the sd card.....Do you know anything about that or the diff between stock or twrp? Thanks...
