In fact, you can return to earth. For an example, enter a door in the Promised Land at daytime and walk out the same door at Night. Or do some tasks in Level 3999 and exit through the glass doors. I am actually a survivor from the backrooms.

There are some levels that are ok to sleep on, if you sleep, you will fall asleep, an entity might see you and kill you or pinhead could attack, so basically if you sleep in the backrooms, you will have really weird dreams about an entity called pin head, you have a weird view out of reality like seeing earth or something like that, and pinhead needs you to sleep for long enough, so he keeps you asleep more by jumpscaring you in the dreams, when you slept for long enough and still didn’t wake up, pinhead could have an opportunity to kill you or at least injure you super super hard, harder than a gun hitting you.
