Hi everyone! Thank you so much for watching. I have gotten complaints about the music being too loud in comparison to me speaking, if this is the case for you there are captions on this video so you can turn the volume down if needed! I hope that helps! I cannot change the volume of the music now. Thank you again for watching! So, from your comments that tells me that I need to get my ac vents cleaned out before I resurface the counter tops. It was built in 1995 with the house I'm looking at to purchase. I've seen coupons for $150 or so from companies who do that sent out thru the mail from Valu Time coupons. Maybe watch for it in the coupons of your newspaper too. Thanks for posting this video. I am in Temple, TX and if I get the house I will relocate to small town Texas about 90 minutes north of here and cuts commute time to my parents if they choose to come live there with me. (*Its got a pool so it's a steal deal for the price!) My apt has some sort of kit but the caulk at the wall above the back splash looks totally awful! I want to try to fix it here before I move over to the house. WWYD? The ceiling collapsed in the kitchen before I moved in, so all of the cabinets have water damage and I asked if it's ok to paint with sealer and paint the cabinets white to seal in whatever mold maybe there? But I don't have answer to that yet. In some apts I've seen that they've used gray latex paint on the caninets that's peeling horribly. But mine specifically haven't been painted at all. They're putting black appliances into these apts. I thought maybe white "marble" counters would go well with that paint color. I think white subway tiles are nice for the upper splash guard too, say like behind the stove or sink areas to protect against getting MORE water damages. I can get those as peel and stick items too, but that's yet another project in the updating process.

Hi thank you for your video :)...I was just wondering if the product you used didn't need a heat gun or torch to remove the air bubbles? Was there no bubbles forming after you poured the epoxy? Thank you in advance!

When youre spraying the spray paint, use a spray from a can of wd40. Then attached the straw to the sprayer tip and the paint comes out very close to the epoxy and you loose less paint and less spray to breathe too.

You did a great job!! I painted my cupboards with a chalk paint then put poly acrylic on top, love the way they turned out. I redid them with stone coat counter top epoxy and used a black spray marveling paint, difference between night and day!! I have had them newly done now for 2 years and they are amazing!!!
@BrontesLife4 жыл бұрын
That is so cool! I have never used chalk paint but I always hear great things!! Ugh, yes ours are sttarting to yellow in some places and I wish I knew what it was from. Probably going to contact them because it definitely should not be yellowing! Maybe we will just have to redo them!

@taylor vancleave that’s awesome! What is the legal product so I can make sure to avoid it and do you have an Instagram pic to see your results?

Jewel of Wisdom the product she is talking about is the legari product that I used in this video. Ours are starting to yellow 7 months in as well, but only in a few spots. Definitely not happy about it. Stonecoat countertops was our runner up in choice for product we were going to use and probably should’ve gone with them instead 🤣
@jewelofwisdom82794 жыл бұрын
@Bronte’s Life thanks so much for stepping in and responding. So sorry you’re experiencing yellowing as well (As the other comment or) but thanks for the heads up. You should probably consider doing an update and stonecoat resolution since so many will be using the other product based upon your recommendation not knowing the short term implications...Just a thought.
@BrontesLife4 жыл бұрын
Jewel of Wisdom I will definitely do an update! When we did the countertops and up until the last month or so they’ve been amazing! Held up so well. We have a couple of yellowed spots, but not the whole countertop. I feel like maybe doing the urethane top coat on such white countertops may not have been the best choice lol. Urethane can discolor and that’s definitely what happened! I could be totally wrong though. When we did the countertops and up until recently they were amazing, the products were super easy to work with, and the fact what everything came together was awesome!!!!! Maybe too good to be true 😂

7:51 if wanna “save the material” getting “every last bit out” than here’s what ya do. Go buy a 5 pack of flexible “bench scrapers”. The stuff bakers use to get batters, mixes, etc out of mixing bowls, pans, etc…. They come in 2 main “flavors”: silicone and plastic. My preference is buy BOTH, b/c sometimes the plastic works well and sometimes the silicone is best. Just depends on material using AND, a 2-5 pack of plastic cost $2-$6 at dollar store (or Amazon) and a 1-2 pack of silicone cost around $8-$15 depending on brand, size, & durability etc…(and can find on Amazon, Walmart, Target, but usually won’t find at a dollar store). They work well getting paint, and other materials out of buckets, bowls, containers…..and if want to clean them up well, can use for baking (bumptious personally I wouldn’t do that, as why risk it 😉). Great vid and beautiful countertops…..looks nice

Your countertops look great and I actually like the rolled look of the added color over actual veining. I do have one question. I've seen many videos so I'm not sure which product it was used with but to get the bubbles out the person sprayed rubbing alcohol over the top and it eliminated the bubbles. Do you know anything about this?
@BrontesLife4 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much!!! From my understanding the rubbing alcohol will give it some sort of effect for aesthetic purposes when you’re doing the highlight color (veining) and not necessarily get rid of bubbles. I could totally be wrong though. I think different products require different things. Some people recommend using a heat gun or blow dryer for bubbles. We only had two spots that bubbles and they popped on their own while setting. I don’t know if that answer was helpful or not 😂 I’m so sorry if it wasn’t

Epoxy resin gives off chemical odors when curing. How strong was the smell in your home during the process? There is always dust in the air, did you do something special to reduce dust and can you see the dust specs in the final top coat when it was completely cured?
@BrontesLife4 жыл бұрын
The epoxy itself did not have an extremely strong odor, but maybe that’s just because I found the strongest odor was from the bondo we used to repair the countertops. Now that stuff STINKS!!!!!!!!!!! We had to open up windows and have the fans on for that. To reduce dust as much as possible, we closed all of our vents downstairs and didn’t turn the fan on while it was curing then before applying the top coat we sanded away dust and hair. With the top coat there were only a couple of random little pieces of dust and I just left them because once we started putting stuff back in the kitchen, you couldn’t see them. I hope that answers your question! 💙
@BrontesLife4 жыл бұрын
I forgot to add that this epoxy did not give off the odor like your typical resin odor ** resin is extremely potent where this had an odor, but NOTHING like your typical resin. Only reason I know this is because both of my parents have used your regular resin in their artwork. ❤️

Absolutely gorgeous!! My husband and I will be watching again together. One question...As this was a year ago, did your countertops yellow at all?

what was the cost to do this to your counter tops. my husband is remodeling the house. And this looks nice
@BrontesLife3 жыл бұрын
Thank you!!! It depends on the square footage of your counters. We used 1 kit for ours. The kit is $395 and include the primer and highlight colors. Only thing it doesn’t include is rollers, tape, plastic, buckets, stuff like that.

This video was so helpful and has convinced me to finally do this! Thank you so much for all the advice, tips, and tricks! I’m getting ready to order my kit and was wondering what kit you ordered. Thanks in advance!

Thank you so much!!!! You are so welcome!! I think it was kit 2. I will double check on that though! You can do it! It was time consuming, but not hard by any means! 💜💜💜💜
@BrontesLife4 жыл бұрын
Yes, it was kit 2. You can add a highlight color to your kit so you don’t have to do the spray paint and it will probably be so much easier

How has it held up over time? Is it waterproof? What about heat, does it stand hot pots? Does it stain easily, leave rings, are they easy to wipe? Please update us. Thank you

Your appliances looked in great shape, I would have liked to see how they would have looked with the white and gray cupboards.(nice I think) I know stainless is the trend. Hope the appliances were able to be used again.
@BrontesLife4 жыл бұрын
Stainless or a darker metal is our preferred color of choice for appliances. All personal preference! So, that is why we chose to change them out when we could. We sold all of them to others who needed appliances for a very good price. So they’re being used by those people 🧡
