Hi everyone! Thank you so much for watching. I have gotten complaints about the music being too loud in comparison to me speaking, if this is the case for you there are captions on this video so you can turn the volume down if needed! I hope that helps! I cannot change the volume of the music now. Thank you again for watching! So, from your comments that tells me that I need to get my ac vents cleaned out before I resurface the counter tops. It was built in 1995 with the house I'm looking at to purchase. I've seen coupons for $150 or so from companies who do that sent out thru the mail from Valu Time coupons. Maybe watch for it in the coupons of your newspaper too. Thanks for posting this video. I am in Temple, TX and if I get the house I will relocate to small town Texas about 90 minutes north of here and cuts commute time to my parents if they choose to come live there with me. (*Its got a pool so it's a steal deal for the price!) My apt has some sort of kit but the caulk at the wall above the back splash looks totally awful! I want to try to fix it here before I move over to the house. WWYD? The ceiling collapsed in the kitchen before I moved in, so all of the cabinets have water damage and I asked if it's ok to paint with sealer and paint the cabinets white to seal in whatever mold maybe there? But I don't have answer to that yet. In some apts I've seen that they've used gray latex paint on the caninets that's peeling horribly. But mine specifically haven't been painted at all. They're putting black appliances into these apts. I thought maybe white "marble" counters would go well with that paint color. I think white subway tiles are nice for the upper splash guard too, say like behind the stove or sink areas to protect against getting MORE water damages. I can get those as peel and stick items too, but that's yet another project in the updating process.

Thank you so much for the info on the 'Prep' video, as well as the applying the epoxy video! 😃 The backsplashes on my kitchen & bathroom counters are uniquely different. They are actually notched into the counter tops an inch below the surface (which is very obvious on the sides) & are on 90 degree angles (not with rounded corner joints or tops). I wonder if I should remove them, fill in the inch recess with wood & bondo filler, epoxy them separately & reattach them later with caulk in the corner joints (like how granite is done)? Also my counter fronts, sides & backsplashes are all 90 degree angles. Is it not possible to work with epoxy on 90 degree corners? All corners must be rounded? I wonder, if I were to epoxy my backsplashes while not attached to the wall, if I could position them in a way so the fronts & tops could be done separately without fighting gravity. Also, if I were to apply epoxy to counter tops, fronts & sides at separate times, if that could remove the necessity of rounding corners? Probably not because of gravity, right

Yes. They’ve held up well, there have been a couple of spots that have kind of yellowed and then a couple of spots that have stained, not sure what stained them though! No issues with the kids or being rough with them! I slide stuff around on them all the time. Very minor scratches that you can only see in certain lighting. I don’t really put heat on them other than a plate of hot food or a cup of coffee, but I have had no issues doing so.

Thank you very much for taking the time to produce this awesome video. Now, if I could only find a DIY video(by a Do It Yourselfer) of the Dirty Pour as good as yours, I will be in hog heaven! If I do, I will come back and post a link to it. God is good! His mercy endures forever!

Thank you!!!!!! I was so scared to do it. Like sweating all over kinda scared lol 😂 it was seriously sooooo easy to do and WAY more cost effective than actually replacing the countertops! They’re really durable too! I highly recommend it. I think it’s under $500 for the whole kit AND the top coat. The kit will cover up to 50sqft and we have 39sqft, so if you only have the long counter space you’re golden and you only need one kit!

7:51 if wanna “save the material” getting “every last bit out” than here’s what ya do. Go buy a 5 pack of flexible “bench scrapers”. The stuff bakers use to get batters, mixes, etc out of mixing bowls, pans, etc…. They come in 2 main “flavors”: silicone and plastic. My preference is buy BOTH, b/c sometimes the plastic works well and sometimes the silicone is best. Just depends on material using AND, a 2-5 pack of plastic cost $2-$6 at dollar store (or Amazon) and a 1-2 pack of silicone cost around $8-$15 depending on brand, size, & durability etc…(and can find on Amazon, Walmart, Target, but usually won’t find at a dollar store). They work well getting paint, and other materials out of buckets, bowls, containers…..and if want to clean them up well, can use for baking (bumptious personally I wouldn’t do that, as why risk it 😉). Great vid and beautiful countertops…..looks nice

Hi! They’ve held up well. I have never put hot stuff directly on my counters because that’s just what I was taught growing up. I always use a trivet or pot holder, so I can’t speak on that. I would say their product is a quality product and the company is very helpful with good customer service.

Your countertops look great and I actually like the rolled look of the added color over actual veining. I do have one question. I've seen many videos so I'm not sure which product it was used with but to get the bubbles out the person sprayed rubbing alcohol over the top and it eliminated the bubbles. Do you know anything about this?
@BrontesLife
@BrontesLife 4 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much!!! From my understanding the rubbing alcohol will give it some sort of effect for aesthetic purposes when you’re doing the highlight color (veining) and not necessarily get rid of bubbles. I could totally be wrong though. I think different products require different things. Some people recommend using a heat gun or blow dryer for bubbles. We only had two spots that bubbles and they popped on their own while setting. I don’t know if that answer was helpful or not 😂 I’m so sorry if it wasn’t

Nice epoxy work on the counters! Question...do you know if the epoxy coating resist heat (hot pan) & stain (e.g. pomegranate juice) once it's completely cured. We have a dark granite counter we like to brighten up (similar in color to your white marble countertop color) but can't see spending around $5K. Just subscribed. Thank you!

What I liked about leggari is that their kits came with the primer and highlight colors (even though I opted not to use them). Also, they don't require applying any heat to the countertops. That intimidated me with other brands, not gonna lie. I'm sure stonecoat is great though! Those were just my main two reasons for choosing leggari. They have great customer service too :)

@@BrontesLife I am renovating my home via DIY methods and I manage 5 other apartments that will need rental renovations which includes attention to the kitchens. I will probably invest in this kit for my home, but probably find an alternative for the rentals. I used DAICH SpreadStone in Volcanic Black for one of the countertops in a rental. It is only $125 for 50 sq ft and it look so realistic because there are real minerals in it. Check it out to see if you have any use for it as a small project; maybe a new diy tutorial for KZbin? The countertop turned out great in the rental, but I'd probably invest in a standard clear epoxy or top coat to add extra durability to the surface since durability is my biggest concern. Let me know what you think.

Epoxy resin gives off chemical odors when curing. How strong was the smell in your home during the process? There is always dust in the air, did you do something special to reduce dust and can you see the dust specs in the final top coat when it was completely cured?
@BrontesLife
@BrontesLife 4 жыл бұрын
The epoxy itself did not have an extremely strong odor, but maybe that’s just because I found the strongest odor was from the bondo we used to repair the countertops. Now that stuff STINKS!!!!!!!!!!! We had to open up windows and have the fans on for that. To reduce dust as much as possible, we closed all of our vents downstairs and didn’t turn the fan on while it was curing then before applying the top coat we sanded away dust and hair. With the top coat there were only a couple of random little pieces of dust and I just left them because once we started putting stuff back in the kitchen, you couldn’t see them. I hope that answers your question! 💙
@BrontesLife
@BrontesLife 4 жыл бұрын
I forgot to add that this epoxy did not give off the odor like your typical resin odor ** resin is extremely potent where this had an odor, but NOTHING like your typical resin. Only reason I know this is because both of my parents have used your regular resin in their artwork. ❤️
