Thank you very much, I came across your video by searching for a way to Factory Reset my 2012 Macbook Pro as I was looking to sell, although I didn't want to, I found it no way to update the Operating System from High Sierra after doing so much research online, however your way has change my mind completely. Not only was I able to fully follow your directions with ease to Factory Reset my Macbook but after doing so, I had a message pop up of updating the Operating System to Catalina, so you know I quickly move forward to update the Operating System and as soon as I did, the Macbook is now running as if I just purchase it new. And now I have completely change my mind about selling it, I'm going to keep it and instead, sell my Windows Laptop. I noticed you uploaded this video 6 years ago and it's amazing that this video is still helping people Worldwide. Thank you for your service Sir. 2 years later and this is still relevant, thanks. only thing i noticed different with my Mac Book pro 2020 was at the start-up while holding down option/command/R i needed to select a wifi network and enter the address, but keep in mind that the keyboard then is in default QWERTY when typing the password for the wifi

Great if you want to clear up a messy hard drive. The “other” section in my macbook’s storage took up around 100gb before! Just make sure you have the files you actually want to keep on an external hard drive

When I erased Macintosh HD, I did exactly what was said in the video, then during the install, it stopped at about 40 percent and it kept saying "Estimating Time Remaining" then it either takes me to the installation log or error screen.

Thanks for the video although I'm stuck at 2:49. When I attempt to reinstall macOS, it says 'select the disk where you want to install OS X and there's just a blank space with no disks available. And the 'install' button is faded. I am using a 2014 Macbook Air. Thanks.
