Curious what did you have to unsync? Usually the only between the devices is the iCloud account. That’s what keeps them in sync with each other.

I have an old iPad Pro 7, I want to erase to factory and use as a "picture Frame" only. I don't want it attached to wifi or any account. I just want to upload pictures with a lightening stick. Is this possible?

You may have to connect it to WiFi initially during the setup process after formatting it but you can skip through the iCloud accounts in the setup. And then always go into settings app and remove the WiFi after setup is completed.

It’s an annoying bug. I believe if you go to. Settings > General > Transfer or Reset [Device] > Reset and tap on Reset Location & Privacy it should do a soft reboot if not turn the device off and back on again and then try.

You can reset it with out a computer at all a pc will work too you will just probably need an app. Before it would be iTunes. I’m not sure if that’s still what Apple offers for PC or not.

Hmm I am not sure if they have a Mac app for pro create they do have an iPhone app tho. So if you have an iPhone I would make sure you have access to all the files on there. Otherwise I would export them all. To the files app in a format that your Mac can handle.

If you restore it from a backup you probably will get back pretty close to what you had. I’d recommend searching ways to clear out space. There are some list that will tell you how to clear web cache and a few things. Probably won’t free up a ton but anything is better than nothing.

I have a question. My sister gave me her old iPad she doesn’t use anymore. She unfortunately does not remember her password for me to sign out of her iCloud. Is there any way to bypass this and reset it as new so I can use it? She should be able to go through a forgotten password process on it or on iCloud.com to reset it.

Without getting or resetting the password sadly there is nothing else that can be done. Apple locks things down to prevent theft.

It usually does but sometimes thing fail and the device can get stuck to the iCloud account. Doing it this way prevents that from being a possibility

you can use the Find My app on another device, select the device, and click Erase. After the device has been erased, click Remove from Account.

You’ll probably need their pin and if the device is logged into iCloud they will need to log into iCloud in the one steps I provided to remove it from their iCloud.

I always check eBay. Looks up the exact model and gbs you have and there is a way to filter and just show sold items. Keep in mind eBay has high fees too I would say on $300 they would probably take like $40-$60 dollars in fees. I can’t remember what the percentage is.

I can’t say with 100% certainty on that I know with hard drives you erase them multiple times. But I am sure if there are traces of data it’s highly encrypted so I am pretty sure it’s gone

Have you tried rebooting the device and trying it again? I just had an issue where I couldn’t get the system to turn on an iCloud feature until I did that. You can reboot by going to settings general and shutdown (which is at the bottom)

I can’t say for sure cause the system will save the settings but apps are usually reinstalled. Doesn’t sound worth the risk. I’d just remove some unneeded app and check your local files in the files app. (The “On My IPad” folder)

Yeah if you just wipe a device without signing out which can be done via dfu mode. The device will still be locked. Which is why I sent the link to try to recover the info to him. Cause without that the iPad will basically be a paperweight for any new owner.

Are you on a PC when doing it? Error 4010 is usually an interference via your firewall or Antivirus. If you go into Windows Security and go to the Firewall & network protection tab, you can disable your public & private firewalls temporarily while you restore & update your apple device. If you are running the beta you can download the main OS and wipe it. That will require the computer hookup to get the update. As far as going back to and older OS apple stops signing those to prevent jail breaking and other things.

You’ll want to do the same steps. And yeah if you can remove the SIM card I would. You just need a paperclip to remove it. The kid that gets it should be able to set it up for themselves and the step will make sure they can without issues.

Yeah nothing is really stored on the sim card other than the cell service. But it’s pretty easy to remove when they are removable. I know the phones are esim only know like the Apple Watch. I feel like some iPads are like that now too but I am not positive

Resetting it won’t effect the iPhone at all. Using it to setup just makes it a quicker process to get Wi-Fi password and iCloud info but after that they only communicate if you airdrop between them.

I go through the erasing process as well it’s all about how to get your iPad to sell. In most cases selling means your upgrading not just fully getting rid of it and no longer care about your data. Also there is a process to make sure it lot activation locked. I followed apples recommended guidelines in the video.
