Yoga and meditation is incredibly helpful, alongside self inquiry. Perfect synergy. It's not as though millions have dedicated thousands of hours to these things for no reason. It works, it prepares mind and body for self inquiry and insight, it supports the integration of glimpses.

I must say, to call it a decision goes against what we know in neurology. Yes, they are both just sensations, but we defensively develop a reluctant inclination to feel some of them and repress them into the unconscious. So the inquiry is meant to bring them back to consccious awareness so they cannot impersonate "I". That is work that clarifies, not a decion. Something neurological must connect and change for this to work. The repressed feeling must be felt so that the mind doesn't keep making an "I" out of it.

GVB. Well, I experienced Enlightenment while being in the woods alone doing Yoga in the LOTUS 🪷 POSITION, which I have practiced since adolescence for joint pain relief. ,"Lotus Born" is the traditional term used to describe the Enlightenment that comes from sitting in this position.❤ I was also reading the Torah.😊

Enlightments don't come from positions, nor from rubbing factor 35 sunscreen while reading the Thora in the woods

So let's say you don't identify with your body at all. And you also don't identify with anything else outside of your body. Then what is it that were observing? Lol I feel like I asked this same question to someone else a few days ago but worded completely differently now I think of it. I asked if the mind is a reflection of the soul and the soul does not move what is it that the mind is reflecting? To add a layer of complexity to it though... Let's say the world is a projection of the mind, and the mind is a reflection of the soul. Which doesn't move l. What is it that's being reflected in the mind that's projecting that outward as the world? That conception of course requires seeing the mind and the world and the soul as seperate things.. Ehhh that's airbendery shiz 😂 elementry my dear watson

I guess when you use the word "soul", you mean "Awareness" in the advaita sense. In that case: The changelessness of Awareness is a metaphor, because discussing change - or the lack of it - only makes sense for phenomenal objects, that are subjected to time. But awareness is non-phenomenal (a.k.a. noumenal), and noumena is beyond time. When they talk about reflection, that is also a metaphor, and interchangeable with "expression". The expressions of it (which are in time) are always new, never the same.
