I actually end up here because I'm watching linus tech tips about their video rendering server. Thanks for the tips, this one solves my problem.

Thanks for the TIP! I quit using vegas Pro and went back to the GP Studio because I wasn't happy with the Codec. I knew Cineform was considered a good one. You've solved that problem for me.

Your videos have helped me a lot. Thank you. I used your videos to produce a dual layer Blu-ray disc with a menu system and dozens of digitized VHS family videos from the early 80s. My entire family is grateful, and getting that project done was no easy feat for me; I was shocked at how non-intuitive and complex the entire process was. The reason I'm here today is because of another problem with Vegas Pro that I can't solve. I just decided to put a bunch of cash on the table to buy VP19 so that I could edit drone footage from a Go Pro. The problem: the Go Pro footage (4k 60 fps MP4) files are stabilized in the Go Pro Player and exported as .MOV files with Cineform Codec. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get VP19 to recognize the .MOV files. I've downloaded every version of Quicktime out there, made sure to "enable the Quicktime plug-in" option in the "deprecated feature" tab under "options" > "preferences". VP19 simply won't recognize the .MOV files not matter what I do. Anyway, I realize this is only partially related to this video, but I thought I'd just put this out there in the remote hope that you or someone else can help me. It seems like I've read every blog and watched every video out there to no avail, and I'm about to throw in the towel in defeat. For anyone with an account to the online Vegas Creative Software Community, here's a link to a much more detailed description along with file information, a downloadable version of the file, etc.: www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/vegas-pro-does-not-open-video-file-mov-4k-frame-rate-25--134106/?page=2#ca853689

Hello AEMontoya For Vegas Pro to recognize the Cineform codec, you need to install the Cineform Codec in Windows, so that Vegas Pro can use the codec to decode your GoPro videos. Did you install the Cineform Codec, as I explained in the tutorial? Forget about the KZbin video, and go directly to my written article here: www.moviestudiozen.com/free-tutorials/vegas-pro/592-render-cineform-video-from-vegas-pro-movie-studio#a6 I have a direct link to an old GoPro program, which will install the Cineform Codec on your computer. Select link inn article, right-click and Save Link As. Install program. Please note that you DO NOT need to open or use the program after you install it. It will just sit in the background, so that Vegas can access the codecs it installs. Hopefully when you open Vegas Pro and import one of your GoPro videos, it will work now. If it doesn't work, post a message on my forum, where we can continue the conversation... www.moviestudiozen.com/forum Personally, I use ProDad Mercalli Standalone version. Mercalli is considered the BEST video stabilization program on the market. Mercalli can output ProRes video, which is fully compatible with Vegas Pro. ProRes is just as good as Cineform, but much more compatible with most programs. Regards, Derek.

Just want to say thanks. I never knew about Cineform and it's changed the whole way I work in Vegas Pro which is absolutely terrible for lag. It's annoying because the people on the forums just say "Get a better computer", but it looks like that was all bullshit. I'm running a ten year old PC with Cineform rendered footage in vegas 16 and there's zero problems. I'm not even near the lowest preview quality setting either. This should honestly be the go to solution for any issues that people have, although I'd rather have not had to install a shitty GoPro program to get it. A small sacrifice though. Thanks again!

Vegas Pro 16 and 17 now work with the latest Nvidia and AMD graphics cards. These versions of Vegas use the newer Magix AVC encoder/decoder, which utilizes GPU acceleration. On a modern computer, Vegas runs much, much faster. However, it can't work the same way on an old computer, which means your CPU is doing most of the processing.

Now that everyone is using 4k and even me is getting a good 4k camera, a video about the dealings with 4k and maybe tips about what to check for when rendering that and so on would be really, really appreciated.

It worked! Thanks a bunch mate. It's funny that Cineform is open source now but we need to do this to install it.

Friend my videos recorded with GOPRO at 59fps are squared after export. In this test in cineform the file was gigantic for only 3 minutes long (39GB) via "Video for Windows".

Thank you; this is great. Would it make sense to batch convert everything before one starts a project and if so do you have a recommendation for how to do so?
@mirrormimi4 жыл бұрын
You are the BEEEST! Vegas doesn't support DNxHD/HR so somebody suggested I export from Resolve with Cineform, but it ALSO didn't work. Fingers crossed!

But the video format doesn't support the vlc or window media player to preview the rendered video
@MovieStudioZen2 жыл бұрын
You only use Cineform for editing with - not playing in a Media Player.
@Tomasz.Nowacki6 жыл бұрын
so after i finish my whole movie should i still render it in cineform for best quality ?
@MovieStudioZen6 жыл бұрын
No ! Cineform is not a final delivery format. It is an "intermediate format" designed for editing only. There are more videos in this series that I will upload in the coming days, that will explain a bigger picture about rendering options.
