A. In the newest version of SmithBox (Save selected model) has been removed and you will need to select the model then select (duplicate) in the edit menu. B. Unfortunately I missed a step when recording the setup of WitchyBND. When you run the app, you need press any key to continue then: 1. PageDown to get to the second page 2. Select Configure Windows Integration 3. Select Register WitchBND Context Menu. You will get a msg (Successfully Registered WitchyBND context menu Press key to continue.) Now you will be able to see it on the menu. Alternatively, you can drag and drop the .dcx file directly onto the witchybnd.exe file and it will extract the same.

@@AlexiosLair After running WitchyBND, press the down arrow key to find "Configure Windows Integration" on the second page of the menu, then select it. Next, select "Register WitchBND Context Menu." Just follow Morbidmod Gaming's instructions exactly.

thank you so much !!! i was struggling so hard to figure this out :c i was following an outdated guide, and then i went into a discord server asking for help but i got none. Then i found this video and I managed to get Midra's model into Blender! now i just need to figure out how to give him his textures, then pose him and add lighting, etc. I'm trying to learn how to use Blender so that I can pose characters to use as reference in my art! Thank you for this step by step guide! Very precise and straightforward! A quick question, I have noticed Smithbox is only able to load some DLC assets (Messmer's soldier or Trina's blossom are an example), but I am not able to find models such as Messmer or other DLC bosses. Should I have the DLC bought and installed for that? Apologies if it's a stupid question, I'm just making sure. Thanks again!

No prob. If you don't have the DLC then you won't be able to access any of the DLC models. The ones you are able to load are probably due to installing the update. I think they added a few things to the base game. Once you have the DLC installed re-run UXM and it will unpack the DLC.

Thank you for this video! I was able to follow along and extract/edit an fbx file in Blender for an armor piece. I'm not sure how to go the other way though...I don't see a way to "reverse" what SoulsModelTool does and get a modified flver file (that includes the fbx changes), so that I can then re-pack the directory with WitchyBND and get a modified dcx file.

You can reverse the process by using the soulsmodtool in aqua toolset to convert back to .flver. then use witchybnd to repack to .dcx, however something seems to go wrong in the initial unpack process. I have not had any luck with the modding process or the time to investigate. I have been using it mostly for 3D prints. Will try to do a video on it soon. Hope this helps.

@@MorbidmodGaming I'm not sure how to use soulsmodtool to convert back to .flver. When I initially drag the flver on soulsmodtools and unpack, I get 4 files, an fbc and 3 json files. After modifying the fbx, how do I convert back? I've tried dragging the fbx and 3 json's back on soulsmodtools but nothing happens.

I figured out that, after using soulsmodtools to convert the .flver file to an .fbx file and modifying the .fbx in Blender, that you don't convert the .fbx back into a .flver, but rather you import the .fbx into the .flver using the FLVER editor, and then pack the .flver back into .dcx using Witchy. So..I've gotten that far, but now my problem is that the armor no longer has physics after converting back into .dcx....*sigh* :)

Yeah, they took it out in the latest version. You have to go "\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\ELDEN RING\Game\" if you unpacked the game then you will have a bunch of folders like char, parts, ect...there you will find the .dcx.

In the model editor tab you will see a drop down called "Map Pieces". You will be able to load them up and export like the characters or any other model.

@@MorbidmodGaming Also I've done some digging, with a bit of help I figured out that if you export the model as an XPS, the addon for which is in blender 3.6. And then import again, the bones are more easy to overview. And the normal map is actually a normal map plus a specular map. The blue channel in the image is for specular, so export that channel from the image and then fill it completely white in it. The remaining normal should look correct again then. This is possible with photoshop for instance or a website named photopea

Unfortunately no. For some reason the bones don't import correctly. If you are wanting to pose for stills or sculpting, then creating a new rig would be the way to go.

You need to select the model in the view port then go up to edit menu and select duplicate it will save the dcx file in your project folder you setup. I will be posting an update vid for smithbox today or the next since some stuff has change form the version in my video. Hope this helps

Here you go... AEG007_310 If you are trying to find models from a specific area, you can go to the map editor tab and load up an area and it will load all models for that area.

No prob. Did you DL it from the link in the description? If so make sure it is the AquaToolset.7z that you DL. The other 2 are source code. I just re-DLed and the soulsmodeltool.exe is in there.

That's strange. I'm using 7zip to extract www.7-zip.org/download.html. I dbl checked and there is a updated version github.com/Shadowth117/Aqua-Toolset/releases/tag/5_21_2024 try that one. it is also possible your antivirus is flagging the file. Hope that helps.

No. The game plays the same. The files that get unpacked are separate form the actual game files even though they are unpacked in the game directory. On top of that, you are making a copy of the unpacked file when you save the model in smithbox. The only time you might run into an issue is if you start reimporting models back to the game via mods.

If you configured it for the context menu it should show up. Alternatively, you can drag and drop the .dcx file onto the WitchyBND.exe and it will extract the same way as doing it for the context menu.

My bad... just realized I missed a step because I already had it setup! When you open witchybnd press any key to continue-> PageDown to get to the second page-> Select Configure Windows Integration-> Select Register WitchBND Context Menu. Should give you a msg that it is done and to press any key to continue. Now you should see it in the menu. Hope that helps. If you still are not able to get it. I'll redo the process and link a quick clip.

Mostly. A few models don't seem to export uvs. Blaidd is one off the top of my head. Also Bones don't seem to export correctly either.
