My bf thinks he's not allowed to be angry at all bc he's German - and he's the equivalent of 6'9; it's called 2 meters, 6 cms in Europe. I didn't believe him until I saw for myself. In German parlance it goes from verärgert (annoyed) to wütend (beyond angry) to wütend-brannt (burning w/ anger, or furious) to angepisst. I'm not sure what angepisst means but he was that way with me once. Thank god it was when there was a HUMAN interpreter bc I didn't have a fully German dictionary then and Google translate doesn't know as much as it thinks it knows. Unfortunately the human translator avoided telling me what angepisst means. I hate when they avoid telling me what a word means. They don't say it in British English. They don't say 'mad' either. I don't know what they do say because the only British person I know is literally part of the Upper Class and appears to think he's not allowed to express much anger. He seems to think it's bad form. I only know they don't say those words because he works at Oxford English Dictionary and he said they don't, then told me what the words mean in British English: mad means crazy and pissed is slang for obscenely drunk.
