I wish they would have made the extender a plug-in direct model without using a ugly cord. Can you use the lamp dimmer as an extender without plugging a lamp into it? I know the lutron switches shut down unless there is a load on it.

Thanks for the info. I installed 2 lamp dinners and didn't realize that one of them is acting as an extender. I must have missed that fact in the packaging. You saved me $70, I was about to buy an extender that I didn't need.
