Worked perfectly. I watched a couple of other KZbin videos on this, and yours was the way that worked for me. I used wood blocks for spacers. Thank you. This saved my favorite MagLite.

I researched as many KZbin video's applicable to my situation. I used this method as well on my ($40) 2015 LED 3-D cell maglite when I noticed the LED light not quite as bright. Used a 7", 8" and 10" X 3/8" lag bolts. It did move the battery ~ 1-1/2 inches, but then I encountered stripping out of the hole so that the lag bolt no longer had a secure purchase on the battery. I needed a really long drill bit to even drill a hole because my stuck battery was directly behind the switch. The other batteries came out okay, but my situation was really bad. I usually just remove my batteries occasionally and then change the order and re-install them again. This is my nightstand maglite, so the batteries are always installed regardless. I'm not fumbling with batteries in the middle of the night. After 2 days of attempting to get this battery out, ended up removing the LED bulb and drilled out the center section to expose the battery. Figured a new switch was only ($18) or so. Pounded out the battery from the top and removed the T8 Torx screw and pushed the stubborn switch assembly out. The inside barrel in one area exhibited some barrel erosion from the leaking battery working on it, so I decided to scrap it as it had a weakened area. Ended up finding the same model maglite on sale at an on-line store for only ($5) more than the switch assembly, so ordered it instead. I'm not sure about lubricating the batteries with never-seize or dielectric grease as this might increase the potential for galvanic corrosion. I'm rotating batteries more frequently now to hopefully discover a leaking battery.

With the combination of this video and others I was able to get the 3 D corroded batteries out of the mag light. It was a pain in the butt. I first tried the freezing and pouring boiling water method and that didn't work. I eventually used this guys method and drilled a hole and screwed a thick screw into it. That was easy for the first battery but the second battery was deeper in the tube. I ended up using a long nose pliers to get in the tube to twist the screw. Got the screw pretty far into the second battery and started tugging on it and got it dislodged. Third one eventually came out with disassembling the switch assembly and pushing through everything with a broomstick. Thank you for the ideas.

Pour some CLR cleaner in it. Soak it, shake it, across a few minutes. Sometimes a takes a day or two. Use Randy's method if this doesn't free the batteries. I take a 1/4 rod , with a slice cut on one end to put a section of 120 grit belt Emory cloth, then chuck up the other end of the rod to my die grinder to remove the white stuff inside. Blow clean with compressor air. With the same '1/4 split rod', use CRC Battery Terminal Protectant Spray on a sliver of cloth install on rod. By hand just ramrod the inside of maglight with a film layer, prior to installing new batteries.

Well, that is very nice, but because your maglight has a short tube, but what happens with the long tube one when the battery is hard to reach and there is no screw or drill long enought to reach the batttery and make the hole.??

So did the second battery just fall out?

I tried all methods. The one that worked for me was to throw it the hell out and buy a new, small, LED flashlight for $20.
