@@jam_kemist3986the AI voice is surprisingly ok, and I say that as someone who usually hates AI voices. I'd say just make sure to not have typos in the text so that it doesn't sound weird. Also, ton accent est sûrement pas si pire! Mais dans tous les cas, tu peux l'améliorer et juste utiliser la voix IA en attendant. 😅

Since Al foil holds the LiCoO2 in cathode, can you explain what happened to the Al foil part during the experiment?
@jam_kemist39869 ай бұрын
Most of it was separed because the LiCoO2 is very flaky and tends to fall off but it's dificult to see, if there was any Al left it would be dissolved by HCl to form AlCl3 which is a soluble salt

do you think these batteries are free of heavy metals? is the extraction safe?
@jam_kemist3986 Жыл бұрын
Most lithium batteries contain others metals that can be named as heavy, I mention in the video, cobalt but there is most of the time other ones such as nickel,manganese, maybe iron and other, but that doesn't mean it's not safe, the procedure if show is relatively safe compared to other ones you may find online, the salts are not really toxic or carcinogenic here so appart from putting gloves, you don't have to take a lot of precautions, have a good day !

G'donya Jam. So far Ive had to destroy long life lithium non-rechargables to avoid the cobalt issue... now I just need to know where you got the oxalic acid you used, I've already got everything else. EDIT: Bugga. Just read your channel bio. Until that I thought you were an Aussie given the voice-over. I may not be able to get hold of oxalic acid from the same source. A much better method to grab the lithium is to soak the foils in carbonic acid. The lithium dissolves but cobalt or other metals won't. Simply filter and dry. Next you can grab the other metals with HCl❤
@jam_kemist398611 ай бұрын
That's actually wrong, the compound in the batteries LiCoO2 won't dissolve in carbonic acid (CO2 + H2O) and even if it did the Co would get dissolved as well
