Hey Chaq thanks for detailed instructions. We were able to reimage IOS phone per your instruction, however when connecting to the network the phone is still bricked by Apple needing Apple ID. This is one of the reasons I absolutely dislike everything Apple except owner shared of stock. Hence the whole reimage and wipe failed, the phones UID is still hardcoded and locked out. All pointers are greatly appreciated

The restore procedure for windows 10 is different from the last portion of the restore (which you only showed on mac only on the last part) . Itune didnt prompt to point to the downloaded file. 😩

Hi, so i tried this but it didn't really work. when i plug the iphone and select the file it downloads normally, but when it's about to finish, my iphone screen just goes black and i hear the disconnecting sound from my windows and a pop-up appears in iTunes saying "The iphone "iphone" could not be restored . Hi @CjInstinct , I’m so sorry for your loss. Yes, this should work. However you’ll need access to your family member’s icloud. If you don’t have his icloud, try resetting by clicking on “forgot icloud password”, and you may easily reset by responding to few common questions or recover through a linked email address which might be logged in one of the person’s computer or any other device, or you may also recover by getting a verification code through sms on his sim card number.

theres 2 restore screen. Don't click on the pop up "Update or restore". Close that popup and click on Restore iphone while holding the shift button and it will allow you to selet the file :)
