How to Factory Reset Quest 3S (Fix Quest Headset Problems)

I am stuck with a bootloop. When I used the factory reset, it keeps rebooting to that exact secret menu. I didn’t even sync it with a phone yet. It broke day one.

If its just booting constantly, try this. Just leave it on and let it reboot til it runs out of power. Once that happens, let it charge for 5-10 minutes. Then try the manual factory reset. Put the headset on, hold power and volume down for a 3 count. Then let go. If it pulls up the usb menu you're good. If not, then you're going to have to get it repaired/returned. This might not work, but it has a few folks

I need help, my headset said it was updating some software and then when it got to 100% it went black, showed the meta screen, then went black for the rest of the day, it’s a brand new 3s and it’s been like that since yesterday, what’s going on?

Even though I don’t own a quest3/3s, it’s still good to know. My quest 2 suddenly became nearly unusable, taking several minutes to load games and constantly lags when on the Home Screen.I’m going to factory reset to see if this helps.

You're probably moving your finger on the volume button and its selecting the wrong command. With the headset on, press the power and volume buttons for a three count then release. Should get you to the usb menu.

Hi. Thanks for the upload. I'm using my 3s for over a month but when I go to the meta app to settings of the headset its not highlighted. It's still in the allow permissions and clicking the continue doesn't do anything. I can check my headset library or battery status. But I can't click on settings. Cuz it's still in the continue mode above. Any idea?

If you can't pull up the USB menu at all, then you should contact Meta support.

Given the choice between a 3 & 3S now, I'd opt for the 3S. Passthrough's as good or maybe better than the 3 and the game resolution is only slightly different. The difference isn't worth and extra $200.

If you factory reset the headset you can link it to a different account, but you'll lose access to any games you bought under the Facebook account. Your best bet is to get the suspension lifted.
