You're really helping me through cosmetology school! my first male haircut I did (it was his first time leaving his barber in 20 years and he had an important job interview) I FORGOT TO PUT A GUARD ON and shaved a big bald spot out of his shoulder length hair. I ran to the bathroom and cried while my teacher finished the cut. Ever since then I am TERRIFIED to pick up the clippers. But you're helping me so thank you :)

Ooooh nooo!!!!! That’s so sad for you, but I would put that on him. Why would he leave someone he knows can cut his hair right before an important interview and better than that, why did he go to a school??? 😂 😂😂 hope you’re still not afraid of clippers. They’re so fun.

I actually learned something here and cut my own hair today. Turned out great, much better than hacking away and shaving it all off like I usually do after failing, lol. The comb trick is hard to do on myself, but I found that using a large, thin, flexible cardboard (such as from a cereal box) was easier to orient and move around than a small comb. Plus you can hold it in place to keep from cutting the top.

I'll say this. I've never watched any of your videos before but just from watching this one I learned so much. It doesn't matter what the comments section says. At the end of the day your salon wouldn't be where it was if you weren't excellent with what you do. I love the video! Also some people don't understand customer demand which is why 80% of businesses go under. keep up the great work!!

@thesalonguy- thank you so much for doing a step by step instructional video for a disconnected clipper cut. I have always blended mine but many guys want this cut. This one seemed symmetrical so i can totally replicate. I love everything about how you broke this down so even non-pros can connect with these tecniques. F these haters and their comments. You rock and did a really amazing clean cut. You look and sound amazing- bravo! 👌

I use a comb to hold emm (up the eye brow hairs), then just zip across with my trimmers. Works really fast. Also, I use edge of trimmers and shape the brows and Cleaning up between them. I also trim the perimeter of the ears. With just the right lighting, you can set them on anything in their mid 20's up.

Positive: I think he does a great job at explaining what he’s doing and is very thorough. The video quality is good and the sound is good. Not so positive: those were blades not guards. There is a huge difference. And if you use guards, you can cut the time in half by “skip guarding” Last, Why was he not cleaned up with trimmers😫 that makes alllll the difference in how clean and professional a cut looks.

If this is for professionals you should use words like occipital bone and parietal ridge. and you should also show them about swirls (cow licks) and hair movement. Also you should ask the client which side his part is or how he likes it.. and you should also say I am going to trim your eyebrows..... some people don't like it but if you can get them to trust you they will love the clean look of it.

I am a barber and and these cuts have new names but really are just cuts from before with little differences. When i do my tapers, I start with the bigger attachment and work my way down to 1 or zero on the bottom, by neck. That way I have not line. I am going to try your way also. My dad who was barber and he had one of those clippers, he used to cut the military hair about all the same, Butch , crew cut, flat tops (not military ) back in the 1950's. A man came in nice thick wavy hair he wanted a undercut with the line in for the part. I did not know that name, he showed me a picture on his phone. Someone else called it a *comb over* which was the name we cut the hair for old men trying to hide the bald on top! Basically this is just a regular man's haircut from the 1960's, 70;s before the long hair or a business man cut. Except it is higher on sides. Actually barbers did not know how to layer until Sassoon cuts or Paul Mitchell cuts came in. Before that cuts were like this cut high tapers and very long on top, but combed to side. Oh like in 1930's, 40;s style. Look at old actors on the movies, how the hair was. Interesting the more we change the more we stay the same.
@JoseRivera-te9hw8 жыл бұрын
Sterling Barbers Good to know, but he still needs to go back and clean up the fade a little. He clearly is very skilled at what he does though. Also, how do you deal with people who are monsters on the Internet, and don't know how to give clean, constructive criticism?

Thanks for the lesson ! One other question I have is I notice some people would start with say the 3 guard take it right up. Then work there way down using shorter guards. For a professional with almost 500k subs, he should be more than capable of taking care of the making even and symmetrical guidelines, and taking out the heavy dark spots on the finished look. I'm not hating but instead frustrated that he's teaching people that this is what your finished haircut should look like when this is only halfway finished. Another thing, we get it, he likes undercuts. Improve your content and add variety because every video looks about the same.
