Great video. Thank you. This validates something I've been doing almost since the beginning. Originally, I discovered it because my left hand wasn't used to or strong enough to make barre chords. But even after I was able to do barre chords, I still often did this and still do this because it sounds so great. I've shown experienced players how I do this and the reactions are varied: some go, "That's wrong, you're supposed to use a barre chord," and others looked astonished and go "I never knew you could do that." It's a great thing.

Love it! I've played guitar a long time, but I wasn't familiar with the open position of the E chord going up the neck. Very cool!! Thank you for taking the time in doing this for us. Very much appreciated and extremely useful!!

Thanks! So, yes and no. Yes with the key of A (if you use the open 5th string as the bass note), and with the key if D (if you use the 4th string as the bass note). But “no” in that neither of those work the same way that the key of E does - since with E, the open 1st and 6th string are both an “E” note. I should make a video on this! Hard to explain with words :)

This is awesome! Thank you! I do believe that a person could work up George Harrison's All Things Must Pass with these chords!
