Such a great tip of the day, but there are so few video tips like this on your channel. Please do more!

Intersting. I usualy make this with my hands, because the buses often go in different directions, not from the center to the sides.

Great tutorial Joao! Very well explained!

Would love to see how to do this in Altium CircuitStudio. CircuitStudio has the fanout control and component classes but no "rooms"...

thanks, Joa. well explained. but after doing this, whenever I want to update the PCB from schematics I get a comparison warning that asks me to remove the room. what should I do about this?

When I Right Click on the component and Fan Out Component (I have nets on most connections) it does not automatically track on the inner layers like yours did. Do you know the reason for this? (it tracked for the first 2 rows of pads on the top layer)

You did not go into the signal integrity aspect. The way we have all the fanout signals. won't they have signal integrity issues? When a track goes into the "room" its width changes. Does this not mean that the characteristic imedance is going to change and this can cause signal integrity issues?

What if only a few pads have the nets. would fanning out still work?

Any good way to add rooms only in the PCB without the schematic trying to modify them?

I am currently working on 19*19 0.5mm bga auto fanout. Haven't succeed yet. I am using uVia in pad(6mil hole and 11mil diameter).
@joaobeck2625 жыл бұрын
Hi Han, For a .5mm bga I usually use 4mil hole and 10mil diameter, Track width and clearance = 3mil I usually follow this Xilinx datasheet, where you can also find some examples of the Breakout for pitch .5mm www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/user_guides/ug1099-bga-device-design-rules.pdf

This is NUTs. Too much set up. PADs all the "set-up" is done for you in the background (yes it uses your standard via, but so what)

FYI, the referenced document might be this one: www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/user_guides/ug1099-bga-device-design-rules.pdf If that link dies, perhaps search the title "Recommended Design Rules and Strategies for BGA Devices User Guide UG1099 (v1.0) March 1, 2016"
