Seems to be faster to me if you run straight from the bonfire in the valley of drakes. You can run straight past the drakes and up to that little house with the last one he killed in the video and start from there, it's way more efficient imo because it requires no backtracking to accomplish and the elevator ride and trip from the bonfire to first enemy are shorter

I also found a way more convenient way to deal with the ones in the ghost house. If you are medium or light weight, you can run past them, take a quick loop into the corner to make sure you aggro the 3rd one hiding back there, and then just drop down from the ledge. This has 3 benefits: the ghosts won't follow you so you eliminate them as a threat. The wraiths are vulnerable as they drop down from the ledge after you. If you die here your stain will be right back at the start of your grinding path, so you risk almost nothing.

I'm feeling lucky, then, because in 2 days of intensive farming I got enough slabs to bring all of my pieces of armor to +10, main weapon, shield and bow to +15, a backup weapon to +15 and a crystal weapon to +5 xD I used to fear Darkwraiths, but after that.....they tremble in terror when I step in New Londo MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

If you don't have the Homeward miracle and if you have high poise there is another run you can do wich I consider "faster" but less safer. From the bridge where the Lightning drakes are run past them and head up the elevator to darkroom basin, there's a bonfire right after the elevator, hope thats helps anybody

Nice and simple; good work!! Just 2 suggestions to improve this: 1. I find it faster farming from the bonfire between the Valley of the Drakes and Dark Root Garden 2. When the dark knights first attack it's generally with a lunge which is telegraphed and easier to parry than circle for the backstab, plus more damage and practise at riposte :)

True. I probably wouldn't be doing this if it wasn't for the chunks. With Kingseeker Frampt's ability to break the chunks down to Large Titanite and Titanite Shards effectively means getting any normal weapon to +14 and armor to +9 quite fast. Any slab that happens to drop is just a bonus.

My game (remastered) disconnected me practically the second he died. Disconnecting from the server, for no fucking reason whatsoever other than their servers being pieces of shit, returns you to the main menu. So I load back into the game and of course there’s nothing, no item there but of course I got the souls when the disconnect message popped up. I’m still pissed.

You're my go-to channel for LPs so imagine my surprise when I innocently search for a tutorial and your voice chimes in! I also enjoyed your XCOM series immensely (the primary reason I bought the game myself)! I'm always impressed with the deep expertise you seem to gain over every game you play. It's nice to see you have a similar build to mine in this game too - lightning weapon + pyromancy. I find it's really helpful for exploiting weaknesses since it seems things that are resistant to lightning are weak to fire and vice versa. The second I saw this was an unedited playthrough, I knew that somehow, there would be a titanite slab before the end. I never knew about jumping from the Firelink entrance, I went from DarkRoot to VotD to New Londo. That was not a short trip. Also, I'm severely lacking in faith and attunement for Homeward. I guess I'm going to have to stock up on homeward bones.

Two things. For those of us who mistakenly used the wrong fire keeper soul to upgrade our estus flask, another good option is to start from the bonfire in Darkroot basin in the corridor leading to the valley of drakes. In light armor you can run past the dragons or with a bow you can snipe most of them easily. Also, if you want to fight don't want to fight two darkguys at a time, instead of doign as he did just take a step or two in the building then get out, it will bring only one of them, kill him then go deeper as he did to get the second guy.

First thing first, nice route :D used it a bit in my "play all 3 games in a row because why not"-attempt and optimized some parts(not much, as it was allready close to optimal imho). Biggest change was to do as much as possible with Fireballs. With 3 attunement slots and running Great Fireball + Great Chaos Fireball I could shave off another 30 seconds from the avrg. run time by not having to watch backstab or parry animations. I'm now on an avrg. time of ~4 minutes per run. Also even with Fireballs it's still important to watch out for their shields as a frontal hit on the shield only deals ~130 damage with a fully upgraded hand on NG.

yes, you can break the large slabs into chunks. Anyhow you will be getting a huge amount of chunks from the darkwraiths if you follow the new Londo farming route. The drop rate for chunks is a lot higher than the slabs.

They are weak to lightning (and fire), not resistant :) Thus, as a general advice: lightning or fire weapon and pyromancies work well. Of course, if you have the stats and a weapon (upgraded) that does more damage than a lightning one, that's what should be used, but any character can do it with +5 lightning.

I got TWO slab drops in New Londo on NG++. I killed Sif early on and drained New Londo. Sure enough I got a slab to drop. The second drop occurred after I got the lord vessel and decided to take on the Four Kings first in order to become a Dark Wraith.

Never actually thought of that, I only mentioned it, because since you're skipping him it's one less slab opportunity you get, but if it's faster to skip him, in the long run, it's more rewarding that way. But now you've sparked a little curiosity in me, Z. If you deal with the 2 DW before him and then just go for him ignoring the ghosts, does that make him worth it? I'm guessing it probably is still faster to just ignore him in the long run.

Don't know, if they have any weakness to Lightning, but my Black Knight Halberd +5 kills Darkwraith instantly with backstab or riposte, or in two common hits, as well (dunno, maybe it is build related). Also, i'm using slightly different course. I'm using elevator after narrow bridge to get down to room with small wood rooms and 3 DW, move out to water place, then to room with ghosts, one DW near fog door to Abyss, jump down from bridge to that door for one more DW, then jump off the ledge to area with gates to Alley of Drake, were last 2 DW can be killed. In this way, i'm doing circle without any actual backtracking.

Instead of Firelink, I prefer using the bonfire connecting Valley of Drakes with Darkroot Basin. Sure there are some drakes in the way, but they are easy to run past or even kill if you want the extra souls and some dragon scales to boot.

I do the same path, but you missed 2 of them :) After the room with the ghosts there is one outside on in the right corner. Just run at him and lure him out, drop down so the ghost cant follow and kill him 2. Takes 30 seconds longer. And also I think you missed one in the big building at the right site at the start But good guide!

Really nice video. You missed 2 DW, in the backyard after the fountain & beyond the ghosts building after the corner. I think the drop is related to the place you killed the DW. I got a slab from the first DW, but I wasn't paying attention where I killed him. If anyone got slabs please share the place where it happen. Thanks :)

This'll take long for me.. I love switching up weapons and gear on the fly, I plan on staying at around SL100 and then putting souls into gear and stuff, I just want fast roll with somewhat heavy gear for fashion and good damage for my lack of patience haha. I've got only Nito, Four Kings and Gwyn left and I still don't have 20 vit lol, I'll surely end up getting one-shotted by big enemies but at least I can mess up against small ones for quite a while

Estimates are somewhere between 0.1% and 0.5%. No matter what the exact chance is, it's very very low. Since it's random, you might go for hours without one, or you might luck out and get 3 in matter of minutes.
