mine never seem to like any fruits. i tried orange, apple, grapes, strawberries, peaches , and pears. the just wont eat it. but they're crazy for spinach, corn, cellary, green peas, broccoli, and coli flower though.

I started with mini carrots and slowly mine got use to trying new fruits as time went on. I've got the opposite prob it doesn't eat anything green whether veg or fruit.

@@lebunz citrus can be too acidic for a bird and cause them to develop ulcers I'm pretty sure they can eat citrus, but in moderation.

My birds have been eating sunflower seeds for a year then added bamboo leaves for the next year How r they even alive? There’s no vets for birds where I live

@Huffandpuff You don’t have to give the, there own veg you can give them veggies that we eat and fruits too

Please stop with the sunflower seeds. They are high in fat which ruins their liver over time, meaning you're ensuring they die a painful death from liver failure in the future! Sunflower seeds should be treats only. Like 3-5 a day MAX.

The problems with seeds is that, the pack may contain everything the bird needs (they usually do) but the birds pick through and just eat what they like, also I read that seeds have fatty acids that are bad for domesticated birds because they don’t get the exercise the wilds ones get. I got formulated diet for my lovebird, they’re also called pellets. She didn’t like it at first but slowly started to eat it. I mixed some with her seeds and try to feed it from my hand. Once I noticed she’s eating it. I stoped fixing it with seeds. I give her seeds as a treat from time to time. Also spray millets are good, but give it as a tray not food. I still need to teach her to eat fruits and veggies.

you should never give your lovebirds, or any birds, alcoholic or caffeinated beverages. Even in small doses, this can harm, or even kill your birds. you also shouldn't give your bird's vitamin supplements without consulting a professional. good info besides that though.

I end up with two boys who fight for my attention. One does love chocolate and coffee, both love to eat my oatmeal and eggs for breakfast. Their such little Buddies to me. They even follow me around the house all day to see what I'm doing or try to help. lol

Absolutely chocolate and coffee will kill them. No dairy, milk products only fruit,, vegetables, millet and a good pellet. I give a small amount of seed for a treat.
