During a hospital stay, an antibiotic happy doctor destroyed the microbes in my body and I have been having to take probiotics, which I never had to do that before. I have been trying to restore my system with food rather than suplimenrs and that is how I discovered your channel. Good information. Thank you! M

Lots of research emerging about the impact of microbiome on mental health too
@Nourishable5 жыл бұрын
Yes it's true - exciting research. The gut microbiome is a prominent producer of neurotransmitters like serotonin. I'll be following the microbiome and mental health research, though it is unlikely that it will be an area that I'll emphasize since I don't have expertise in the area - like so many areas in health, personalized care by a trained professional is so important.

Plant based baby....we don’t feel it’s “extreme” at all but we know it’s tough for folks who are used to animal products, so we tell them the same thing....at least eat more plants....Where we live, in America, most people only 1 to 2 servings of fruits and vegetables a day if any at all....we shoot for at least 10 servings a day 👍🌱💪

I find the plant diversity goal really interesting - I predict that encouraging people to eat a greater diversity of plants will increase overall fruit and veg intake. I would love to see studies investigating whether promoting plant diversity enhances long-term healthy behavior change.

@@Nourishable ....oh yes....most people I work with simply eat the same foods over and over and lack diversity and also servings of fruits and vegetable and legumes in general....when I get them to just start eating more plant foods (more fiber) they have immediate reductions in inflammation, systemically and also reduced insulin resistance, and more clear thought, etc....Go Plants!!!!

So it isn’t necessary to eat probiotics on a daily basis? Here am I thinking that the only way to change the microbiome quickly is to eat yogurt, kimchi, etc.

I've heard Pastifarians poop rainbow pasta. Nice video. 30 veg's. Keep away from ultra processed. You don't have to completely give up meat. But it wouldn't hurt to give up sausage and ham. And cola and fast food. On to the next video!
