Cas!! I found you because of Ariel from “That Awkward Mom“💖 and she recently uploaded a video of her own cleaning routine she created called “The Tidy Tango” and the first two minutes are just dancing 😄😄😄 and IT WORKS! It gets me going and the rest of the routine flies by. There’s really something to this! Thanks for the incredible content!!👏🙌💃🕺🥳 P.S. I’ve been helping my (semi-hoarder) best friend with ADHD and limited mobility declutter and pack for a big move to a smaller apartment in a few weeks and have been using all of your advice. She is a butterfly!! Like for real though 🥴😮💨 and she’s been SO INCREDIBLE letting stuff go the last few weekends and I even explained that decluttering is like vacuuming, like you said. She said it made sense because if new stuff comes in, then the old stuff’s gotsta go! I feel like a proud mama. We love your videos!🙏🙌 sincerely: another ADHD girl

@@stephanieeliason9086one of my favorites is Mark 11:22-24 where our words, when mixed with faith, come to pass. Sadly I spent decades of my life doing the opposite, saying things like "I'm always exhausted," or "my life will never turn around," etc. My life followed exactly the negative words I said. Thank God someone showed me this truth, which has completely changed the direction of my life. I need to stay focused on this, though, and not revert back to the negativity, which is eager to jump back into my life, if I'm not careful.

This post is after I finished viewing this the first time. I sense a Spotify review later this week, I love Spotify while doing chores. Since I am old enough to be your teen mom, a family diagnosed ADHDer in her 60's, I now need to pay attention to my energy cycles to capitalize my mind's best time for creative work. This can mean eating my "frogs" at low energy times rather than sacrifice my morning high energy times to the mundane. Right now I do this by making my chore list before breakfast because it helps me wake up. So today, my morning is writing and my much needed Target run will happen between 2 & 3 when my daily low energy arrives like "fog on little cat feet" (Carl Sandburg's poem) and I fall asleep to something recorded on Hulu. One more thing, this brought to mind some of your Malitose79 content from when you were "faking it to make it." Ever think of dropping in a clip of you then when presenting this point relative to maturing with ADHD?

I did the fake enthusiasm, peppy, smily, ever ready for a new project at my last work. People probably thought I was this weird introvert who was also happy about new projects & things like an extrovert would, especially my boss. I was angling for a certain spot that didn't happen because of the economy right now, but I was really believable in my enthusiasm. Why? Because the fake burst of enthusiasm & smiles raised my dopamine or something, making me more energetic & "sparkly" (which is so not me) for real, a bit like brainwashing myself into enthusiasm. The physical enthusiasm raised the intellectual if that makes sense... We humans are se weird...

Thanks Cas for your amazing podcast. I definitly know the narrative we tell ourselves becomes our mindset. We also become what we repeatedly do (Aristotle ) For me as a Christian - there is a Bible verse Romans 12:2 Do not conform to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. We can be transformed by renewing what we say to ourselves and watching our behavior.

As I watched this video again, I think the concept of fear of the unknown comes to mind. How many boxes of stuff are there to sort and declutter? If you can see that, then you can make time to declutter one box a day. I have as much as 40 years of stuff in my house and if I set aside one hour for each part of my house (office, kitchen, and bedrooms), then it will get done. Otherwise it will stay a disaster forever. Thanks again for your motivation - or did I get it from Tony and Mel Robbins?

So funny, but I've been doing this for years. As a teen I was extremely shy and awkward, someone told me to fake it till I make it...its been my thing ever since. I approach my life as I would one of my discos (I was a dj for 18 years) I make myself larger than life and hyper. Now with CPTSD, I do find it difficult at times, and I do get drained the next day. BUT, if I really need something done, and I'm struggling the most, I use this technique to get through it. It works so incredibly well. And if I can speak to someone and tell them how "excited" I am, it works even better...because I've bounced it off someone and its hit me with double. Weird, but true.

I needed to stop watching this one, I couldn't make it til the end. I kept waiting for at least one piece of advice that is actually healthy for your mental well-being and you kept disappointing me. I discovered your channel not a long time ago and went back and watched a lot of your past videos and listened to a lot of old podcasts and always found your advice very helpful and inspiring, and your entire persona and life story inspired me as well. I feel as though I started watching a humble, mindful, unique woman and watched her ggradually change, first grow and expand her horizons and then somewhere I feel like she passed into a dangerous territory of pride and toxicity. It makes me sad and I hope this is just a phase. This advice is toxic and will hurt many people's mental health, and it likely is hurting yours. Lying to yourself is not a solution, it is a problem! It is one thing to play your imagination for fun and some motivation, another to build your entire presence on a lie. You did not lie your way into the successes you achieved, you worked hard on them my dear! Give yourself more credit. I pray that you shift your direction, I came to really like you as a fellow "hot mess" human. ❤ Take care
