Thank you for the weirdly seductive music at the start. Really got me in the mood to fertilize some bonsais.

Absolutely incredible trees! You have an art my friend, not just with bonsai but the way you can articulate the information to make it so engaging.

Sooooo. .. How to Fertilize Bonsai? This was a great, informative video but perhaps the title should be changed to "Fertilizer Explained" or something like that. I'm looking for techniques and methods. Thanks

That and the fact half of it is paywalled

It depends highly on tree itself such as age specie and also what substrate it's in and how much sun it gets. For instance I have one tree that is pretty old and has a three or 4 inch trunk it's about a foot or 2 tall at the moment and he lives in a small training pot with a boon mix of akadama lava rock and pumice since the tree is very established in his pot has been in for two growing seasons now almost 3 and the substrate is very inorganic and water flows right through I use a continuous liquid feeding of a 202020 mix so every time I water i use fertilizer . Other younger trees in more organic substrate get a diluted dose once every two weeks and some older specimen that are still being beefed up get it every week

Can you recommend how frequently do you fertilise bonsai trees using liquid fertiliser it's so inconsistent on the internet so much confusion and so much contradiction some say once a week some say every two weeks some say every month in the growing season can you give any advice ?

Can we fertilize Bonsais with pure Potasium & pure magnesium and pure Boron in very minute amounts rather than using NPK 10-10-10 or other NPKs ?
@trapis0311 ай бұрын
if it's that concentrated it might be difficult to spread evenly across the soil and also might over fertilize causing death in my opinion

Does soil CEC play as much of a role in bonsai or is it more a trade off for soil texture?
@DRKauff5 жыл бұрын
Texture is very important in a bonsai container. CEC is also very important. A typical bonsai soil mixture consists of akadama, a type of clay.
