I live in zone 7A in the USA. I usually fertilize flowering plants in the fall with Garden Trust. Should I fertilize Camellia Japonicas in the Spring and Camellia Sasanquas in the Fall or are there any other recommendations you can make?

Camellias blooming season is pretty long starting from late fall until next spring, depending on location, culture, and maintenance. So I would rather feed your plants with well-balanced fertilizers after blooming because plants exhaust the energy, but in later summer, apply some fertilizers with relatively high phosphorus to promote your plant to produce more flower buds. During any other time, any well-balanced fertilizers are ok. Does it make sense to you?

@@LAyangfamily It makes sense and thank you. So, I plan to fertilize after the camellias bloom and, at least, one other time before they start blooming again.

May I know how long it will takes for the camellia to grow new buds?

@SpencerWong-m7s After blooming season around in late spring, the plant begins to produce leaf buds and flower buds, so you might have to wait until late fall to see the flowers, kind of pretty long, but blooming season is also pretty long. 👍🤣

@@LAyangfamily Does this mean that I will start to add the fertilizer into the soil, and pour the Miracle Growth in to the soil fornightly starting from September if I want to see the camellia bloom in January the following year? Please advise. Thank you :)

@SpencerWong-m7s Generally, after blooming, you'd better feed well-balanced fertilizers for healthy growth and then gradually switch to high phosphorus fertilizers to boost blooms. Good luck.

Blooming season lasts several months, I would say 1 or 2 months before the blooming season starts, it depends on your plant variety.

So many fertilizers to be mixed, what shall I do, my camelia doesn't grow it is two years old , those fertilizer are no where to be found from my place.there is bud ,but doesn't bloom.

Sorry about that. You do not have to use these fertilizers if you can not find them at your hand. If you have buds, they are supposed to bloom. Try to feed your plants with fertilizers rich in phosphorus or compost containing all different kinds of stuff and receive more sunlight in the winter and spring.
