@GardeningUpbeat have been meaning to ask you a burning question that has intrigued me for a while now and not sure what I may be doing wrong...... I have a few Hydrangea plants a mix of the Big Leaf and some others and while they seem to be healthy, luscious, green I am yet to see a Bloom! What must I do or can to ensure I see them blossom and bloom just like yours or several others?

How do the leaves help? Any particular leaves?
@GardeningUpbeat8 ай бұрын
Sorry for the late reply..Leaves usually make the soil acidic. We can use any dried leaves..plus, it keeps the soil very light which many other plants need like Azalea, it hates compact soil..thank you!

Can camellias grow in tropical lowlands? Also are the seeds in those rose hips sold for tea viable?
@GardeningUpbeat9 ай бұрын
Camellia grows best in tropical and subtropical areas with adequate rainfall but obviously you can grow them. You can also try growing the variety - Camellia Amplexicaulis, which does well in such environment. Good luck and please avoid growing Roses from commercially sold seeds which you have referred. Those are usually being treated by Chemicals. It's better to grow Rose from stem cuttings..all the best!

@@GardeningUpbeat TY. Now I just got to find someone selling camellia here, looked online and saw none. My aunt grew mini roses from cuttings and it have 1 hip and I'm planning to plant that.

Will it grow in bangalore ( 30 plus degrees) , where can I buy healthy plants with many buds, was cheated many times by online sellers from west Bengal in the past....I want to buy Azaleas also
@GardeningUpbeat9 ай бұрын
Sure Sir, it would grow. I am from Guwahati and summer temp is quite high here. Buying plants online is bit risky..though luckily I got good plants few times (bought from Amazon). Many plants which I bought from Nurserlive, didn't survive. Transit time is also high as I am from Ghy. Few days back, found a new website - seed2plant.in. I am yet to buy from them and thinking to order few plants very soon. As I would buy for the first time, not sure how it goes. Hoping for the best. They have good collections.

@karthikiyer1971, Sir, I am from Guwahati..and I usually buy most of the plants from nurseries in my place. Buy only those online which are not available locally in my place. One idea I would like to share - if possible, you can try collecting from Ooty, Coonoor, Kodaikanal etc..Those place's climate is favorable for Camellias mainly because of cold climate condition (First preference is Ooty though). Plus, it's not far from Bangalore too..Wish you all the best!

Sir,my pentas plant some leaves tips are in brown colour and some leaves are like drying ,even though I removed those leaves,and I applied fungal spray and I put the Saaf fungicide water in pot,there is no use ,many plants are dying,please give the suggestion
@GardeningUpbeat9 ай бұрын
It would be okay...you did a good thing by applying fungicide, kudos to you. This is happening because of environmental changes and we can't do too much about it. Most of the perennials show similar symptoms. Like, when moving from Winter to Summer and Summer to Winter, Pentas is the same As you have already removed the affected leaves, you can try repotting your plant once by providing fresh potting soil mix and also apply fertilizers. Your plant would start looking good once rainfall starts. Also, please avoid providing whole day of sunlight. Temp in our place is really high and Pentas doesn't like that (I'm guessing you from India too). That is why they bloom much better in Spring. I would try to upload a new video of Pentas soon, thank you for watching and Sir is not required actually!

Ma'am, It's a slow growing plant and doesn't prefer too much hot environment. This is the growing time. So, please use very light potting soil mix as I have shown and you can start fertilizing now. It would be growing till Sept-Oct and then again it would stop growing. Very slow grower...To promote growth, you can try applying Super Sonata (available on Amazon) All the best!
