I don't understand why they bother you so much. It's not depressing to be a fan at all. How is anyone stopping you from liking what you like? Welcome everyone? Will you welcome people from the "Fandom Menace" ? What effect does the "Fandom Menace" have on others are you talking about? "They don't want Marvel to get better" So you admit that Marvel is bad now? The writing is bad BECAUSE it's woke. The "Fandom Menace" DOES encourage debate. None of the woke commies want to debate them.

Sweetie, we are not trying to spread hate or negativity, that is not true one bit. Calling criticism negative or hateful isn’t a good excuse. So what? We not anything you call us, we are just trying to show how movies these days have been doing horribly. Please sweetheart, don’t make things up.

@@TrialOfCinema No one claims that you have to like every single movie. It comes to a point though when EVERYONE is saying the same thing and it is clear there is a narrative being pushed by the other fringe side. Richard C Meyer just put out a very thoughtful series of videos on this same issue, specifically with movies. The director of the Mad Max films has never been contentious with fans, or participated in "sjw" politics, etc. Yet his latest film is being called 'woke" this and "sjw" that by all the usual suspects. This makes no sense. Valid criticism would involve something more specific like "I dislike the color grading and how it changes too much in the film" or usual complaints about bad writing -- without the realization of how hard it is to make a decent story fit into 90 minutes. It has gotten so bad that these same "critics" never can admit they are wrong (which they have been much of the time: KK being fired, the stupid "No One Asked For This" argument, and so on) and also fail to point out the creative issues in their own camp: the overwhelmingly poor state of Comicsgate books and lack of quality content in the Fandom Menace's youtube channels. No one is making anything up in current year 2024, except maybe your side.

@@Scooby-Doo_420 You think we don’t give criticism outside of it being woke? No, we absolutely do, forced representation isn’t the only problem in these movies. The problem is people like you are trying to say forced diversity doesn’t affect a movie when it does. Otherwise you might fall into the same pitfall of channels like geeks and gamers, who claim to be about Geeky and Gamer stuff, yet every single one of his videos is just him reading an article while spitting his own political ideology to his audience, (Which is ironic for the guy who keeps saying "Keep your politics out of my entertainment".) while not a single one of his videos is a more positive talk about the stuff he loves, hell I remember once people straight up ASKED him to sprinkle some positive content in between his regular content and he just shut it down. Fandoms are just fine the way they are. The trick is to find people you get along with, not necessarily agree with. "The Fandom Menace" is already the most inclusive, because they don't exclude people for their takes. They may mock/criticize your ideas, but you're allowed to have them. Without getting kicked out of the community, as long as you have the personal backbone to share them. I'd rather deal with people that aren't always polite, while allowing you to say what ever you want. X, I think this comment might be a bit horrendous. Coz they WANT to enjoy marvel, star wars, etc content, but the people who make these shows don't make them in a good way. For example, EFAP is part of the toxic group. But they watched Falcon and Winter soldier, and loved John Walker. It's just that they're calling out the bad writing for Sam and Bucky, where they are really shitty. It's really horrible to say "Don't watch what you don't like". Coz these guys supported all these properties for ages, and now they're being told "This new content will be made shitty, it will have weird world views, plot holes galore, and no respect for the viewer. It doesn't matter if you want to watch good MCU content, just shut up and go watch something else, toxic asshole."

I’m in the industry and have been for a few years now and I can say a good chunk of what these reactionary channels are mad about has merit. The pushing of agendas, the desire to tell people they’re wrong for not thinking the way we do, I’ve seen it on every set and in every writers room I’ve been in. I understand that outrage because it disgusts me when I see it behind the scenes. And it’s that same arrogance that drives poor storytelling in favor of current social messages. This outrage crap is annoying, it’s toxic and even bad in some cases, but I’ll tell you what, as a writer, director, and creator: a bad critic is never as bad as bad art. I’ll take that sentiment to the grave because bad critics don’t effect society on any scale near bad art. Being critical, even stubbornly, is better than perpetual positivity.
@ApricusInaros Жыл бұрын
A sane independent critic covers the terrific, the good, the bad and the ugly. Period!! Why don't they put out videos about projects they like? Where are the videos about Avatar 2, the biggest box office of 2022? Ignoring the biggest movie since years? For real? How can you take a selfproclaimed critic like that seriously? It's obvious that it's not about being objective or about uncovering uncomfortable secrets of the industry. It's only about the specific business model that is to put out content with negative reviews, because some people love to hate.
@RepublicOfBridger Жыл бұрын
@@ApricusInaros with all due respect, you don’t get to decide what a critic is. Secondly, I haven’t seen a single KZbin critic that hasn’t reviewed Avatar 2. And of course, a film that is financially successful does not mean that it’s good. If that were true, every Twilight movie, 50 Shades of Grey, Transformers, Fast and Furious movie would be considered some of the best films ever made. This is not true for them, it is not true for Avatar 2

@@RepublicOfBridger I take the liberty to give my opinion what a SANE critic or reviewers is, thank you. Nerdrotic and Doomcock made videos about Avatar 2? Nope. Strange, because it's a Disney project and Disney is their main topic. It's cherry picking. Find some project you can spin something negative out of it and ignore everything else. There is no objectivity, only an agenda, specifically the hate train business model. The world isn't black and white, and so isn't Hollywood. Financial success of a movie does not make it automatically a good movie, but sure enough make it a topic to be worth a discussion by reviewers and critics you can take seriously.

I decided a long time ago that anyone has a right not to like any movie but when it gets to a point that you are so negative that that your whole existence is to just hate a piece of entertainment knowing is forcing you to enjoy how much that’s when it becomes more than film criticism. I found out a few years ago that the more time I spend on negative things the more that comes back to me. Now I’ve never been negative in fandom or toxic, there have been movies and TV shows I haven’t liked but I just didn’t watch them anymore. Imagine that. I think anyone that just sits around and complains about something that no one’s asking them to enjoy I promise you is not leading a happy life. I promise you Star Wars theory sits around in his free time absolutely miserable. It’s like dude you beat cancer and you aren’t even enjoying the life that you got a second chance on? You’re just sitting around thinking about how much you hate things? When you sit around dwelling in the negative euro our depriving yourself of positive experiences. Whether it’s anger or depression or whatever any negative emotion that you spend time in is more time you’re spending in life unhappy than happy. Now I get sometimes things happen like losing a loved one or getting locked up for stuff like that happens but you mean to tell me you’re going to spend your time being negative over something no one is forcing you to experience? Sometimes I don’t even understand why they’re calling something woke and you can tell the reason they are calling something woke is because they have now train their selves to any time they see an actor that is not a white male that they can’t stand it. I’m like hold on was George Lucas being extremely woke when he hired Carrie Fisher and Billy Dee Williams? Like for me saying Star Wars is Woakes doesn’t even make sense. When you think about Star Wars think about all the movies and TV shows and why are people calling them woke? Because they had two female leads and then an African-American lady got a job not even as a main character, it’s not like she was Ray swapped for a character that was a different race, this is literally a lady who got a job playing a new original character who wasn’t A main character, and that’s being woke? OK if that’s what they’re saying then now they’re saying that it’s votejust for these people to exist? I’m not a liberal or a conservative but I do admit I have seen movie projects that I felt like they werent being genuine and it was kind of being overly woke but these people aren’t even looking at it like that. Now it’s literally anytime an actor gets a job who isn’t a white man they’re losing their shit. I stopped subscribing to Star Wars theory years ago because I never had a problem with his opinion if he was saying he didn’t like a Star Wars film but he turned into a psychopath that acts like he hasn’t ever gotten laid before the way he’s encouraging people to harass actors and directors and to fight other fans that disagreed with him. I’m sorry but if a piece of entertainment no one is forcing you to experience has you that riled up I think you need psychiatric help. I can’t imagine how someone like him would mentally hold up in a real life situation like being wrong place wrong time and you end up having to do time, like to me that’s a real life situation you have every right to be upset about. When it comes to movies, music and television, you’re telling me there are people that upset about something that supposed to be the escape and no one‘s forcing them to watch it? I mean that just sounds like a little girl stuff to me.

We absolutely must stamp out the rumor that we all directly accuse anyone who criticizes a character with a different skin color, sexuality, and/or gender of racism, homophobia, or sexism. Sure there are people who do that but there is also the opposite, I have experienced that myself. In the Fear Street trilogy, which I told about before, the main character is a black lesbian. There is criticism of her that has nothing to do with these characteristics. And I have responded to this criticism and simply explained why it is largely one-sided and unfair and why some aspects from the films, have not been taken into account or have even been ignored by the critics. In response, I was also accused of liking the character only because she is a lesbian. Just as an example.

I was a fan of the anti sjw videos like 10 years ago. Won't say I grew out of it as such, just that they became more extreme than just ben sharpie destroying feminists with facts and logic. My political views have barely changed as well. I get called "woke" a bit so I suppose I was always woke? We just didn't have a term for it until a couple years ago I guess. The Ahsoka trailer is a great example of this shift in the anti-sjw, now anti-"woke" crowd. There are 4 women shown in the trailer and 3 men. This has upset hundreds of people somehow? When all but 1 woman and 1 man are already established characters as well. It seems like they wanted all the new characters to be white men, and they can't be evil either. I think this might be the first star wars show with predominantly female cast? At least for the main characters. But oh a slight majority female cast? Anti man propaganda. Someone says something positive about the sequels? They gonna get a bunch of comments insulting them. For liking something? Then you have posts from star wars fan groups or pages making strawman arguments about how sequel fans are calling everyone who dislikes the movie racist/sexist or other things. I am yet to see this actually occur, and it gets called out in the comments but then the attacks from the fandumb menace start up again. I think the cleopatra thing is also a good example. I have no interest in watching the show. Never did, not my kinda thing. But facebook puts a post from groups farming outrage interactions at the top of my feed everyday. I hide the post or block the group to see less similar content. Doesn't work as next day theres the same bullshit post of people being unreasonably mad about it. Guarantee if they also weren't spammed by facebook by these posts they wouldn't care either. I get it, cleopatra was white, a show took creative liberties and used a black actress. Who fucking cares. Similar shit with the little mermaid movie. Coming out in a few days I see. I've never planned on watching but Halle Bailey is fucking amazing and I think she's probably as good a fit as you can get. Ariel is a fictional character, a mermaid at that and people are throwing fits over the best person being chosen for the job. Like I don't agree with changing the race / gender identity or whatever of already established characters. But it doesn't negatively affect people in anyway if Ariel is black or white or any other race. Cleopatra might confuse uneducated people into thinking she's actually black, but don't worry the over the top discourse has ensured that can never happen. And then you have garbage, dogshit creators like the (no) critical (thinking) drinker. OMG this show has a women character who is good at something? MARY SOOOOOOOOOO. OMg man failed?? Sexist bullSHIT!!111! No idea how that idiot has any fans I have never seen a good video from him that isn't just him being a sour angry loser. Think I finally decided to stop seeing his channel a year or so ago. Might go watch a couple of his vids now just to laugh at him. Also yeah finally finished your video now. Woke has no, or at most very little impact on the quality of media. Even if it did, people using "woke" to blanket describe stuff they dislike have no idea what woke actually means and can never define it. People call the sequels woke, I don't really see it but sure. Then they say they are bad because they're woke? I'm sorry but how, and why, and what? Sorry for long rant lmao kinda feels good to get that off my chest.

This is my goal. I’m tired of getting negativity for loving the sequel trilogy and loving phase 4 of marvel. I wish we had peaceful conversation instead of labeling each other.

0:40 Mauler and Rags are "anti-woke" fandom menace? What? Star Wars Theory and Shoe on Head are also on the list?? This is insane. Did you just put everybody who didn't like The Last Jedi here, regardless of their reasoning? What a joke.
@TurfNationYT Жыл бұрын
Mauler and Rags absolutely are at least very closely related to the FM. Star Wars Theory is cool with them but probably not fully.

I also for a short time, went down this rabbit hole, got sick of my timeline making me feel so awful all the time, why am I getting so upset about shit I really don’t care about? They are like a fing virus that keeps spreading. My timeline is now clean.
@BeNice108 Жыл бұрын
I did the same with politics, watching Late Show hosts. So much hate/fear mongering, for things I didn't really care about or want to follow. At least with this stuff, I do actually care about the state of entertainment. Franchises I want to keep enjoying, but since they're so bad It's nice having people actually willing to discuss WHY it's being written so terribly. The trick is to balance it out with positivity, not necessarily within the same content.

I used to watch these guys videos all the time. While I still agree with many of their base stances. Now, however I can't stand listening to nearly every one of them. They've turned into whiner and complainers, the very image of the people they mock online. Listen, you don't need to fight against the Fandom Menace. You kust need to learn to live alongside them. They have a right to their opinions and the communities they've built up. Every person should be able to join a Fandom they like, even if other people dislike their opinions. Fandom is large enough to encapsulate everyone.
@Wayne50022 жыл бұрын
I'd say most of the channels you criticize here are only a thing because the online fandoms were/are toxicly positive sometimes. I like your videos because you are not one of the people pretending "if you don't like series X you are *insert some -ism here*". And they also do have a point with the whole "access media" phenomenon. The incentives for professional reviewers are very much laid out in a way where sharp criticisms are hugely disencouraged. Apart of the critical Drinker, I am not too much a fan of these overly dramatic and negative channels, but I have watched them on occasion, whenever the fandoms were way too overly positive. It really is boring when being a fan is an identity of some people to the point where they blindly praise everything and make up excuses for objectively bad ideas (things like not planning a new film trilogy out from the start are simply dumb for example)

I just want a place to discuss fandoms without the anti sjws slinging nonsense. It's so rare anymore. Can't talk star wars, can't talk video games... It's worse when a meaningful discussion involves exploring the themes and behaviors of characters, and how sometimes our favorite media is problematic.

I’m sorry, but this is absolutely hilarious. If the menace saw this, they’d probably come away thinking: “What do you know? We’re actually the optimists here.” Then again, they probably already knew that. This whole campaign screams “oh woe is me”
