As a scout main i would not recommend jumping around wheb fighting other scouts, it makes it easier for a experienced scout to predict where you are going, instead try to mirror their movement so it is easier to aim and shoot

While fighting demomen with good prediction, doublejumping in the same direction you were running sometimes mean certain doom.Scouts who doublejump without pressing any buttons can really distract the demo for a split second and its easier to get that final meatshot when they fire at your jumping pattern.Maybe use this when youre confident you can mess with their aim because it does leave you vulnerable for other enemies

What you said about Scout v. Demoman was actually really interesting. As a Demo main, I always believed that Scout countered _me,_ due to their effectiveness at close range (their ability to 2HKO us, while Demo is considered weak at close range), and their speed, making it hard to land shots on them and easy for them to avoid our stickies.

Always found Pyro trickier than some other class since his weapon can drastically change how you fight him. Like the dragons fury even though it's a rare sight is a really powerful weapon to kill scout, they can also just set you on fire then switch back to a shotgun after airblasting you to lower the damage they were about to take.

One aspect you missed is the Pyro player who remembers that Pyro is a combo class. Pyro has an extremely deadly arsenal of secondary weapons (minus the Gas Passer and the jetpack ofc), and I find that Pyro players who know how to use them are consistently some of the biggest threats I run into as Scout, whether because they can one shot you with a crit flare, or pummel you with the shotgun, Pyros are at their most dangerous when they mix the flamethrower with their secondary to beat you down. Don't necessarily expect the burst damage to be a constant advantage, since Pyro has seven secondaries that can do it too, and as a result you've really gotta play around that possibility

sadly most pyros (and heavies and soldiers) often forget that they have shotguns. especially the panic attack, which out damages the scattergun at scouts typical engagement distance, has a consistent shot pattern, faster deploy speed and is usable by classes that have more health than a scout. scattergun scout VS panic attack anyone but engineer, scout is at a MASSIVE disadvantage. because even just a bit of chip damage will put a scout in one shot range for the panic attack and due to the faster deploy speed, it's a not too hard for a soldier to just do some splash damage or a pyro to light you on fire before blasting you in the face.

Great vid, good sound and video quality and I really like the segments, it keeps everything well organized. As pyro main with 4k hours in the game I have some pyro v scout tips. In the event of a competent combo pyro, just running straight up will work even less often than you stated in the video, as they can do a puff 'n sting much easier. If you can, wait for the pyro to air blast before you double jump, as the jump will free you of the air blast lock and can throw off their aim. The last thing beware of corners, pyro is an ambush class and will try to put themselves in situations that emphasize that.

For sniper you apparently want to keep your distance which I don't understand. The way to beat sniper is to stay at medium range so he can't melee you with his always crit melee and so you can cause decent damage and make him flinch.

@@samdaman2939 Yeah, you make an excellent point, while writing the script I generally was imagining a scenario of a long range scenario where you stumble upon a sniper scoped in on you, and to, in that situation, not try to push the sniper in the open to try killing them cause they're at the advantageous position. Do not get into flamethrower range of any pyro. Us pyro mains will use that split second of range to trap you and burn you. You have two range weapons. Use it to pick at a pyro. Jump over and meatshot them then run away and repeat. Never get close where we know you're close.

6:25 the gunboats don’t actually decrease the amount of self-damage you take if you hit another enemy, the game has a check in place whether to apply the blast damage decrease depending on contact with an enemy or not, so the soldier will take full damage anyway.

On sentries: try to see if you can corner peak or snipe the sentry with your pistol. If the engie is dead you can pretty reliably take down a sentry on your own with some practice. When it comes to corner peaking a sentry make sure you wait a second in between shots for the sentry to reset its aim otherwise it's gonna hit you every time you peak. (Also if you're a crazy person you can hop on top of a sentry and crouch circle-strafe while meatshotting it to destroy it...but that's the most situational method out there.)

The blutsauger can be really deadly to a close range scout, the way it aims practically makes scout walk into the needles. What should I do against a blutslauger medic?

Maybe opt for flanking him? If he doesn't see you after you've seen him (and peeked at his loadout) even better. You can also opt for the Shortstop if you want to be further away (or the back scatter or stock to flank). You can also use mad milk to offset some dmg you took during the fight itself. And IF you can get close enough, boston basher or fan o war then swap to primary.

On Scout Vs Scout, best way to practice this matchup is playing mge and it can even help sync your aim and movement, and playing the vs soldier matchup with friends Vs demoknight you can be at high ground and spam jumps Vs Heavy the best way that i could find was attacking him from behind or when hes low and on my opinion, medic is an more important pick than heavy, even if you die as you said

Everything you said in this video is true but don't forget flanking is just as important. With flanking you can do a lot of damage by sneaking behind or attacking when the enemy doesn't see you (Just like playing spy). And your speed is what helps you enhance that. Wow, this video is honestly very good and I would even recommend it to some that needs common sense when fighting other classes as a scout, tho I'm honestly surprised you didn't mention some weapons to counter other classes and scout himself, example, the force a nature and soda popper, those two shotguns may have less clip size but the mobility they give you is un-matched sometimes and especially if you can aim well, these two shotguns are a recommendation. As for the demo and soldier, I'm surprised you didn't mention demo's quckie bomb launcher which is a HUGE counter to scout since the faster detonation time gives a massive NOT TODAY YOU PEST to the scout and fighting a demo with it will surely make the demo own you in most cases, since rushing him means nothing because the det time is so fast you might aswell just run, or the demo could charge it and the fact that the quickie has a faster charge time means your severely out matched when a good demo uses it, and in most cases, your already gibbed before you could kill the demo, as for soldier, getting close to a DIRECT HIT soldier isn't really a good idea since not only does that soldier knows rocket placement, the soldier will surely DELETE YOU in an instant before landing a meatshot given he's aware of you, I've seen many scouts rush a direct hit soldier and get deleted instantly, in my opinion abusing the pistol here is a pretty good choice or just don't get too close or get deleted in an instant. Anyways great video I loved it!

This is a really nice video, very helpful and informative, with a cute little voice :), but to be honest, i would've liked if you expanded more on the matchups depending on the lodaut, just like you did with the Heavy, Demo and Engineer, for example: Soldier MU: If he's using the Direct hit, you should always focus more on movement than aiming because you can get oneshotted instantly, and as a bonus, sometimes when they are at low health, they can try to cheese running at you with the escape plan and killing you by melee. Pyro MU: You should be careful if the pyro is using Dragon's Fury because you are instantly deleted with 2 consecutive fireballs, as a bonus, if you are at close range, you should care more about movement if they are good hitting flares. Demoman MU: You said that Demo is weak at close range, but if they are using the Loose cannon then it changes, i have +6000 kills on it, and i had a lot of cocky scouts running at me and then they instantly die by a double donk. As a bonus, using the loose cannon makes it easier for the scout to take splash damage. Sniper: If the Sniper sees you and they have the Huntsman, you should avoid engaging at close range, because you are making it easier for them to hit a arrow on the head.
