Something I really respect in your word of choice is how you refer to character strength in terms of this version of the game, meaning you obviously know a lot of the characters will be buffed and sol will be nerfed. More people in the fgc need a positive mindset that doesn't feel forced.

I know this is kinda weird to say, but I think relative to their strengths overall as characters, I-no's matchup vs Sol is better than even. As in, if Sol and I-no were tied for 7th best, I think I-no would win the matchup. Your mileage may vary.

I don't know if she would win at all. Sol negates pretty much all of her tools except Stroke which, I'll admit, is pretty good against him. Chemical Love - gets low profiled by everything Sol does. It's only useful to punish Gunflame if you're close enough. Antidepressant Scale (Note) - Gets punished on reaction from full screen by Vortex because of its long startup. And even if Sol is sleeping, he can still low profile it with Vortex and hit your hover dash unless the note is as low as possible to the ground. Dives - you'll get punished 100% by Sol's 5K. Sometimes they won't even care and they'll reliably hit you out of the air with fS, because that move absolutely needed a huge vertical hitbox. For him and I-No to be tied on the tier list, Sol would need to lose all of these things which hard counter I-No. But at that point it's an entirely different matchup

Am I missing something with the Axl match-up? You say he has a hard time with dive kick and if you get in he explodes. In addition you show stroke HS going from his max range 5P and getting I-no in. So how is it a bad MU? Seems to me that while 5P messes with hover, hover should beat his 2HS and 2P so it's even? Is there another layer to this?

Hovers need to be better placed, it has a good amount of startup which can be clipped by 2HS or 2P. Typically I find it pretty hard to use hover in this mu outside of up close.

Because after so many years of getting used to calling it HCL, why would you go out of your way to shorten it differently? Additionaly, CL is generally used as the abbreviation for Clean Hit, as seen on Sol's combos on Dustloop.

@@phill1711 Honestly, I get that :( but hey, I find her to be still fun in Strive and even if she is considered low tier, she is far from unusable and has options other characters do not have. I just wish for a patch that changes some parts of the game to be less limiting, since I think ArcSys really failed to achieve their goal of making the game easier to play for beginners, so they ended up only limiting options :|

I do agree that ino isn’t unplayable and honestly the only thing I really want them to do is lower the chemical love a little so it doesn’t wiff so easily. If they did that I think I’ll be satisfied. ( they could also make the note a little faster but that would just be bonus)

@@phill1711 Indeed. I was thinking more about the general mechanics, but it's also an issue with the movesets. For some characters (most even), streamlining made sense and you didn't lose much. But characters like May really lost complexity and I feel like I-No's core movelist was streamlined already. I get why Sterilization Method got thrown out, but it could have still had nice applications. I agree, HCL is supposed to be the backbone of her neutral in conjunction with STBT and Note, but it is just pitiful how easy it is to low profile. I do think making note more relevant in neutral again, but I have no idea how they would go about doing that, because faster startup would mean easier note oki, which is against their whole design-philosophy in Strive. I hope they give 5HS a purpose, because it's just a worse 2HS right now. A few small adjustments could go a long way with I-No.
