Andrew Ward is a terrific infighter. Floyd Mayweather is superb in the pocket. Classic Fights where there was a lot of infighting are Chuvalo v. Patterson (former fight of the year) and Frazier v. Quarry I (former fight of the year). Mathis v. Tyson was a great show of how infighting can be used to negate power, but in the end Mathis lost.

would you say this is an effective solution for wild style brawler type aggressive fighters? smother and controlling them on the inside
@mataafa13 жыл бұрын
It can be effective but you also have to be reasonably strong yourself and conditioned well as it is taxing on the gas tank... but yes can be very effective in neutralizing an aggressive fighter

one problem I have in amateur boxing is that the referees won't let you bend at the waste to dodge punches. They say it's tow and you need to stand straight. I don't understand this as all pro boxers use this and without this it's a totally different game...

Are these inside fighting techniques legal in amateur boxing? I hardly see any amateur boxers do this. Is there a reason for that? Is smothering illegal? Is putting your head to his side and pinning your opponent's arms with your shoulder illegal in amateur boxing?
@skandys98478 жыл бұрын
no it isn't illegal. it's only that this is commonly used by fighters who are short for their division. they use their hips to produce a shitload of power

How is this guy a good teacher and Ellie don't delete my comment when fighting on the inside u gotta tap that body double every punch u throw and move it head although if ur fighting on the inside its mostly by feeling Cus ur gonna get hit regardless so Brandon should be teaching how to get out of it but its always good to fight on the inside

Does anybody really think Freddie Roach is a better trainer than this guy? It doesn't get much more technical.
@WKrealestateNYC8 жыл бұрын
+Gary Shaw Freddie is extremely technical too. Watch his videos. Brandon Krause has great fundamentals. What makes Freddie great are his game plans and development of his fighters. When he made Manny a two handed fighter, right hook. Manny was virtually unbeatable.
@garyshaw84498 жыл бұрын
William Kim cool thanks for explaining
@dru7132818 жыл бұрын
+Gary Shaw you are very unaware what It is to coach or train. yes he might have a better way of explanation but there is a lot to do in boxing and lots to learn. a camp is 6 to 16 weeks. Freddie trains champs unless he gets those kids to be champions no matter how much better he is experience and resume overshadows everyything
@WKrealestateNYC8 жыл бұрын
fabrizzio monsalve I was saying he is a 2 handed fighter which Freddie developed a right hook for manny.
@N2tao6 жыл бұрын
fabrizzio monsalve a two handed fighter is a boxer that has the power and skill set to consistently hurt or KO opponents with either hand- like Manny or Roy Jones, Jr., Mike Tyson. As opposed to Larry Holmes (straight right) or Joe Frazier (left hook) not that any of these guys haven't gotten the KO with either hand but the latter were known for the "big punch" unlike the former known for being deadly with either hand.

I don't understand a word that guy typed, besides sissy, and I don't know what his problem is. Maybe he just hates anybody that likes Pacquiao. Also, Manny's fighting style isn't a pussy style, it's daring, because your offense is your D. You can't fight like that forever. If I boxed, I'd prefer a well rounded style.
