Thanks for the video! One small tip I think if you stand instead of sit that will make you appear more solid psychologically. In fencing tutorial videos you probably don't want yourself to hide away from the environment as you meant to present yourself as a fighter. Good content tho!

In the book Understanding Fencing, Czajkowski classifies open and closed eyes attacks a little bit differently - closed eye is the same as what you described, but your description of "open eye" is what he would consider semi-open. The reason being, you are still committing to an attack for which you know the expected conclusion, but you also have a backup plan. A fully eyes open attack would be one in which you do not know the ending, you perform an action not intending to hit, then proceed purely based on how your opponent reacts. I do not think your classification is bad, but I think it is prudent to account for this third type of decision making. I think all three decision making processes are present in the RDL glosses, but the semi-eyes open style is the most common, and they emphasize the importance of a fencer's ability to improvise or execute their backup plan when something goes wrong.

@TheMissingno I hadn't heard the term semi-open before, thank you. My explanation could have been clearer but my intention was to include both what Czajkowski calls semi-open and fully open eyes into my classification of open eyes. Basically my feint being the closed eyes and then the open eyes including the two other options. I also agree with your comment about these in the glosses. Thank you for the terms as this was rather useful.
