That is so sweet! It’s interesting you mention a wedding gift because every time I see filet crochet bedspreads, I think about trousseaus and wonder if people used to make things like this before getting married. Definitely a bygone era but it’s sweet to think about 💕

My hook says 1.5, but it's actually 2.0mm. I'm using #10 Aunt Lydia's thread and the gauge at row 7 is 14 inches. It's huge.

Thx so much for this video tutorial ❤I’m German and perfectly understood everything you explained. I read German filet patterns before and always got confused about the 3 dc - 4 dc blocks 😵‍💫 Now I finally understood, bought your pattern and will start crocheting today. Thx again ❤please continue to publish such beautiful patterns ! I’m a huge fan ❤

OMG! Corinna that is stunning! When I look at these blocks, I see a gorgeous shawl - no surprise there! I love making shawls and that's what the illustration shows! I did a few pieces of filet crochet decades ago, but it really wasn't my thing. But I think I'll try this, maybe in a beautiful peach Yonkey Monkey I bought and didn't use. Thank you for teaching us this with yet another of your excellent tutorials! And kudos to you for sharing your written instructions here & in your pattern. That is VERY time consuming and VERY helpful!

Love this !! and my sister just loves butterflys and anything fairy, soooo am thinking to make just a cushion with one side butterfly and one side fairy ring for a crismus pressie. But I will have to re-watch your video verrrrry carefully because by row 3 I was already totally confuzzled and discombobulated with my counting spaces and blocks 🤦‍♀🤦‍♀ so frogging I will go. PS. herewith one very genuine offer to type out your handwritten patterns for you xxx

I never liked filet crochet before. Turns out I was just intimidated by it. So I never looked into it and never tried. It looks difficult. I’m going to try it now. Thank you for showing me that it is not difficult. I’m going to try some simple patterns first but I have in mind something I really want to do in filet crochet.

I have an idea for you Corinna! It would be a lot of work but i think it would be fun! You could make a mystery blocks coverlet. Instead of just 2 designs, they would be all different, and you could write them out line by line like you did for these. I think it would be so much fun to not know what design your making until you finish the square!

That's really pretty just found your channel. Subscribed. I love flowers. I would probably try this in a yarn. It's easier for me. But that would be pretty adding it to a jean jacket or T-shirt making a boho look. I loved watching one of your other videos when the patterns are old. Very cool.

In my crazy world, this is called synchronicity (or happy coincidence): it has been almost 2 months searching for a especific pattern for curtains, only finding adaptations for shawls and what not. I will certainly give a try to this one and the following of the butterfly, it'll take time but believe me the final result is worth it.

Holy moly !!! I have just begun to learn to crochet (well at least this style), and it was so hard to keep the chain from not curling, then my fat fingers kept getting in the way, then the thread was curling up. How do you do it and keep it all together Ms. Vintage Crochet? You inspired me to buy thread and the super small steal hooks, but wowza, you sure are a super professional. I’m going to keep at it even if it takes me a year to make this pattern. 😞

im only 10 minutes in but i just wanted to say thank you for the clear and concise tutorial. i’ve been crocheting pretty much exclusively with worsted weight acrylic yarn since i started in december 2022. i’ve been intimidated by hooks smaller than 3.5 but i think the patterns made are just so beautiful and i love the clean delicate look of them ! if i could imagine what it’s like to have a big sister teach you something i think this is the closest to what i could think of 🩷

I feel like this is one of those patterns that's meant to have an embellishment added in the middle. Whether it's attaching another small flower in another color, or adding a monogram to the pattern, there is room for personalization. Especially in something that would be a family heirloom blanket.
