How to fill an AGM battery with acid

Good video, AGM battery cells can dry out if they are overcharged, so adding additional electrolyte if you can get each cell open is worth a shot. I have a Pulsetech PowerPulse passive battery desulfator on my 2001 BMW battery as preventative maintenance as Pulsetech claims that there patented frequency they use can extend battery life up to three times. I also used my PowerPulse on my other BMW battery that I let sit disconnected for a year, and it was at 11.2 volts, I tried charging it with my friends Exide 6 amp automatic charger for 14 hours and battery voltage was at 13.1 volts, yet it would not start my other car. I put the PowerPulse on it along with a 1 amp Schumacher manual battery charger for 72 hours, and left the desulfator on it for a week and it started my car right up. My point is desulfation can take up to 30 days depending on how sulfated your battery is.

How did you empty it? if it overflow you are screwed

CTX9-BS with a bottle Supplied electrolytic. Yes this it is a new way to sell AGM batteries but. AGM factory filled and sealed are un spill-able. Shelf life unfilled 5 years vs the few months filled AGM battery use only the dedicated acid container that comes with the battery as it contains the proper amount of electrolyte.

You are 100% right. I have just bought U-power AGM battery from Amazon it is factory filled and sealed can’t even hear liquid sound even shaken it is almost like gel battery.

They have mats inside of them that acid soaked

The only difference between an AGM battery and a flooded battery is that once the Absorbed Glass Mats are soaked with solution, the excess is drained out so that the battery can be classified as AGM which allows for less restrictions when it comes to shipping. It's about 95% soaked in an AGM battery which leads to a higher resting voltage as well much like a flooded battery with low water levels.

where did you get the bottles of acid to ad to this battery?

DallasPilotCar The acid was included with my battery. You should be able to find battery acid at your local automotive store!

@@rippingwrenching5818 No you cannot get Sulfuric acid at the parts store. I Have sulfuric acid but the AGM is supposed to have battery paste like gel i went ahead and added acid and dw..it charges fast..hope it last

AGM battery use only the dedicated acid container that comes with the battery as it contains the proper amount of electrolyte at the correct concentration. Not the normal battery acid!
