Actually you do NOT have to use sulfuric acid!...i have rebuilt many old batterie's using an (epsom salt) solution, it work's very well, and last's more than 2 year's easily...i like your charcoal idea, as long as it's a good quality carbon source it will conduct electricity very well!...

Lead poisoning await you. Lead works its way to your bones. Bone marrow produce red blood cells. It's not a instant event but lead poisoning will undeniably happen.

Before you solder the plastic cover you need to put the carbon first then soldering the plastic cover and last the acid solution.

@@desiideascreativity : Also keep all lead connections in place of the plastic battery box, cut only 3/4 of the cell compartment leave 1/4 for the electrons to move from + Positive to - negative, then fill with charcoal the cells, the reseal cover of the Battery, then last sulfuric acid as energy catalyst. these batteries work but not for high current application, or in other words these are not a high current batteries as others like lead acid, lithium-ion or lithium iron phosphate. for example first crank car engine needs around 400Amp to start which only can be provided by high current batteries. in term of batteries more current mean more time. let say 12v 10amp hour give you small time to use while 12v 100amp hour give you more time to use it.

Before you seal the top of battery filled with the carbon. Also give 2 or less amps slow charge. Prevent smoke ( sulfuric gas ) is splosive with the spark of the terminals. Very good video thanks.

What he should have done is to make sure no plates were shorting refurbish them and reattach them, check none are shortlisted then assemble. Battery will be close to normal.

i used to see those who repair old car batteries is by removing all positive plates and negative plates, examine the bad plate then replace with a much better plate. If your own way works well and fine, though im sure it wont be a strong power like spinning the to start an engine.

Somewhat iffy on belief. But! Since I do know that no matter how you make a basic battery. Each Cell is always approximately 2 volts, its very easy to just take a small jar and make 1 cell. Charge it and see it you get approximately 2 volts. The for the great idea. Don't care if it starts a car. But would run some lights around the yard for fun.

no this is not. activated round carbon filters cut to 3inch, 3 1/2 inch aluminum rod (magnesium corrodes to fast because of salt water) inside the center of the carbon filter and aa battery graphite rods and sea water works better than this. in a plastic jars multiplied 6 times. but he is just giving you an idea to expand further with a little research needed. this is a good starting point. i went from jars to sodium power/paste, graphene paper and a aluminum plate. solid battery youtube channel

Why they turn to black? I added sulfuric acid and tested on hydrometer being full. Than after I set it on charger some cells turned black viewing from top. Some bubble some don't... I used 1265 gravity

A battery is actually supposed to carry 12.4 volts or 13 for load draw. This is actually OEM manufactures. Also altering or modifying batteries goes against any safety protocol. Do not try this at home.
