You can also fill, after you select the entire area, with ctrl+g, special, blanks, in first cell selected write = and click on cell above then CTRL+ENTER.

This could have been done by pressing F5 or GoTo option (CTRL + G) select blank and fill the blank with above cell value

Could also enter a column to the left or right and do an "if is blank statement" and select the cell above it.

Can you do this, then revert back to the format of what it was? There's a macro running on a spreadsheet I fill in multiple times a day. It merges 'sheet 2' of every spreasheet in a folder into one. There's about 1000 spreadsheets in that folder and counting
