I have a floor from 60's much worse than these. Some spaces bigger than 5mm. Would you recommend to inject something to this bigger gaps or just pray that it will not crack or fall inside? Maybe it would be a good idea to move some of the boards, but I'm a bit afraid to look there..
@Ermes12FloorSander Жыл бұрын
Hi ,thank you for the coment . For biger gaps you can use wood strips to fill the big gaps and filler for the smaller ones .it would be an extra expense but cheaper then moving all the boards .

these procedures were used in this project is. first procedure to do is to punch the nails. and first procedure mashin hummel disc 24. then proceed with number 50. and finally use the disc 100. then also with the corners sand with Edger disc 24 then 50 and at the end use the Festool disc 80 for the corners. and the last procedure uses hand sand with paper -120 or paper -150. and the product to fill the gaps on the wooden floor is jenkins joint filler

That's gonna shrink and crack as the floor breathes!
@Ermes12FloorSander9 ай бұрын
Yes, for reasons the wider spaces will fall. because pine wood changes shape over time. and filler doesn't stay long depends on how we treat our floor. example if by chance we often use water 💧. The floor will change shape more often. and the filler will fall off. I always explain to clients that the filler is not very long-lasting over time. before we proceed 😊

@@Ermes12FloorSander Great video. Is it always wise to fill in the gaps or do the floorboards need space to expand over temperature variations?
@Ermes12FloorSander2 жыл бұрын
The floor itself is an old pine floor that has matured but even so the filler itself its not strong enough to withstand the force of the wood thus if that happens the filler will either fall down or pop up ,so in the long run the filler will eventually fall .That's why we recommend best not to fill but some costumers want it even with the short life expectancy of 6 months to a year .
@kierand94102 жыл бұрын
@@Ermes12FloorSander Thanks for following up. Makes a lot of sense. So you’d recommend just living with the gaps, or, as I’ve seen done elsewhere where the gaps are particularly large, pull them up, re-space them closer together and fill in the end with a reclaimed plank?
