got my first rave shoot, and first shoot ever in videography, and this helped answer lots of my questions

Wich mic are you going to use bro?
@DigiDriftZone3 ай бұрын
Excellent tips, just to add to this it's surprising how good the ZV-E1 internal microphone is in clubs, also how great it is to have the clean 12,800 ISO. With a small Viltrox 20mm f/2.8 and the camera set to shutter priority, you can match the shutter to the frequency of the lights to avoid flicker and the camera will close the aperture during moments of bright light, it works really well. Also a mix of gyroflow and unstabilised footage.

Isn’t the music to loud with the internal mic?

Everything you said is pure gold. I want to point out the storyboard idea. It's genius. Some of our events were filmed by a friend, who's actually a filmmaker, and before opening the gates he just simply summarized what could be concidered as a good shot. I'm talking about 18 years ago, where the consumer technology wasn't as hightech as nowadays, as well as the club equipment. Long story short: he directed the setup and lights a way, that was most benefitial for the camera he used (forgot the brand, sorry)

Great video! To be more technical, you're shooting manually focusing, or letting the lens pick up the work and touching to focus at key moments?

Subscribed with bell! Thanks for those advices. This is the best club videography video tutorial I have found on KZbin. I would be interested in which focal lengths you are using. I imagine, that wide shots will look the best. Would it be enough to run around with a 24mm 1.4 all night to have a pretty wide view, or do you think it is necessary to have it even wider, like 12 -15mm full frame? Do you sometimes need a 50mm or even 85mm to get closer to people but yet not anoying them while dancing?
@DavisSutcliffe3 жыл бұрын
Lenses really depend on your preference and location. IMO I think its best when there is a mix of wide and zoomed lenses. 24mm 1.4 is a pretty decent sort of lens for this type of work.

Hey Davis,, thanks for your tips.. As an amateur, starting out to make live rock clips,, they've been helpful. Although I don't need the action perhaps that a nightclub requires , a little creativity for rock is handy.. I'm still struggling to get my head around some post production issues.. Do you use LUTS or other overlays?.. I noticed your overlay pack, but they don't seem to be demo'd clearly (for me anyway).. I've looked at tons of LUTS,, invariably they're good for well lit environments, and become noisy for flashing coloured lights in a low light situation.. I can do some of my own, but looking at perhaps an easier way out,, or at least a landing place I can tweak?
