I agree that Toho should give Legendary more freedom to develop Godzilla as a character, rather than restricting him. Since the success of Shin Godzilla, Toho has set certain guidelines that, while unique, limit Godzilla’s potential. While I appreciate Shin Godzilla, it's not how Godzilla should be portrayed in every film-it restricts the character's evolution. Toho's fear of repeating the 98 fiasco is understandable, but Godzilla: The Series showed how the franchise could move forward in a positive direction. Legendary could use that series as a blueprint for future films. That said, the MonsterVerse does have its flaws. There are inconsistencies, underdeveloped titans (aside from Kong), hit-and-miss human characters, cringe-worthy dialogue, and lackluster world-building. These are areas where Legendary can improve. Ideally, Toho and Legendary could collaborate more freely, with Toho allowing Legendary to stay true to Godzilla's core while giving them creative space to grow the character. This way, both parties can contribute to the franchise’s success, giving fans the best of both worlds.

@@Alzilla09 exactly! I completely agree! I like shin goji but he shouldn’t always be presented as big, bad and scary, Legendary goji is much better being strong and powerful but also emotional. And like you said I understand not wanting to repeat certain mistakes but you can’t improve if you don’t let things simply happen 😅

@@Ibaven-theonly You’re absolutely right, but here’s what I don’t get Godzilla is meant to be the main protagonist titan of the Monsterverse, yet it feels like his character isn’t being fully developed. While Kong’s more human-like qualities make him easier to write for, the other titans, including Godzilla, have distinct characteristics that deserve more exploration. It's a missed opportunity that the depth of Godzilla’s character isn’t being fully fleshed out, especially given the potential for richer storytelling. Hopefully, Toho allows Legendary to push further into Godzilla’s and the other titans’ unique traits, giving them the complexity they deserve in future installments.

Imho there’s 3 issues that hold the Monsterverse back: 1: Titan Problem, they just make good titans with and forget about them (ie: Behemoth) or bring them back to have them die instantly (Tiamat) 2: Getting rid of villains too fast, Ghidorah is Godzilla’s main villain. having Godzilla’s main enemy be a one and done thing (especially in the second movie) was a waste. Same thing with Mechagodzilla, but it’s not as bad because they can still use Kiryu. 3: Human characters.. I know nobody’s going to the Monsterverse for good human characters but if they could make some it’s just an added bonus. They need one especially if they want to add Biollante. 4: (extra) Where tf is Rodan?😭bring him back and have him be Godzilla’s right hand man fr. Yap session over

Actually, maybe I should be doing study on being a director for legendary pictures. Because I cannot stand TOHO’s bullshit anymore. Like I’ll Recanon the lore of Godzilla being a species. Either TOHO will fix it until the next movie comes out or they want to be dicks. Like can we get something special for this incarnation of Godzilla and not just being there for no reason?

Maybe they could do this by making our Gojira the only one who can go thermonuclear or evolve the swiftest. They literally trusted TriStar to cook up a good Godzilla film and they fucked it up. GINO is the reason why the millennium era exists
