It seems odd to me as a Brit how you do things over there. Here, we always go to their house to see the pup before we even decide if we want it. No doing things via video which can be faked easier. Seeing you pick Maverick up from a car park literally made me cringe. Breeders with websites are rare, especially as most puppies are bred by owners who don't make a living out of their dogs so it's just not worth the effort. There are breeders who do things to a higher standard with health tests and all the things you mentioned good ones do, it's still the done thing to go and physically see them before committing to the pup.

Oh wow! That is different. Here you usually put a deposit down to reserve a spot before ever meeting the puppy in person or sometimes before the puppies are born if you really like the breeder. There's a lot of breeders here that breeding is their business and income! Thank you for sharing!

I agree I went and met my dog and had her temperment tested then out deposit down and paid the rest when I went and picked her up

@@baileerosemary It's probably because here you are often not far away from your desired breed, and if you want a rarer one you would be the sort of person to put in more effort to get them. I've never travelled more than 20 miles to pick up a dog, though my friend travelled 250 miles for his dog when lockdown hit and dog prices went crazy, but still he went there to see her and put down a deposit, then went back a few weeks later to pick her up, over 1,000 miles travelled in all. I do see the occasional advert announcing puppies due to be born soon, but they're rare.
