I wish you the very best!! This afternoon, after watching a bunch of videos you made; we have so much in common even if I’m much older than you; I was an international student in Canada, Vancouver , been through the job hunting; being laid off; got the maple card; have a black SP, who I am very jealous of my dog because she got nothing to be stressed out about 😂😂; now I need to find another job again because my contract is ending soon and my company is going through a hiring freeze, looking for a job is indeed tiring. Thank you for your kind words, and hope I could land a job soon. :)

I keep saying the same to my friends as well - I wish I were a dog :D Poodles are so expressive, and mine enjoys veggies and sunbathing haha. I wish you the best with your search, and please don't be a stranger.

I used to refer someone and they got the job. A couple of years later when I need help and asked her for a referral, she ghosted me😅. Sometimes it’s just a numbers game and the key is to have thick skin, try as many times as possible, and decouple the outcome completely from one’s self worth.

💯 I couldn't have said it any better haha. It sucks the person didn't get back to you - its always hit or miss. The good thing is you only need one good shot with job hunting!

Being hunting for jobs as a new grad for a few months and receiving no reponse😢. But 2 days after watching your videos, one of my job applications move forward to preinterview step. Whether I get the job or not, I see this as a good starting point and your luck and positive energy must affected me!

Haha you comment made my day! Please keep me posted about your progress. Honestly couldn’t imagine being a new grad in this crazy market but trust me you’ll come out stronger than ever.

what you mentioned about meeting the max bar, is it only a tech interview thing nowadays or does it actually spread out to many other industries in US? i remember the time i used to get laid off, i was about to find sth within 1-2 months quickly but that was prior 2012. many thanks~

Hi 👋, Ty for your comment. I think it’s more of a tech thing as the industry matures.

As a new grad student, I was also there 1 month ago and got so many rejections per day😂 At that time, I had the same feeling like you had, and questioned to myself why I couldn’t do well on some interviews. But I don’t wanna lose and I wrote down what I can improve next time and keep practicing until my next interview. Fortunately, I got my job three weeks ago, and already work as Full-Time Software Engineer🎉🎉🎉 謝謝你的影片分享,真的能體會你當時的心境,我自己當初也懷疑自己是不是很差勁😅 但是後來我才明白如果保持正向的念頭,才會更加地順利!

CONGRATS Jerry! So happy for you, and I'm sure you'll crush it at your new job. Looking back, it was silly for me to actually believe in some of those thoughts I shared in the video; I was fortunate to have family and friends to lean onto.

听到networking那趴后背就开始出汗了,我这已经不叫社恐了,应该叫社窒了,天呐我该怎么办~....big congrats to you and good luck with your new journey!

haha 你太可爱了!我和你说一个我用的trick,*如果*你得network的时候~ 听起来可能会特别反人类,但是我尝试seperate我脑里子的东西和我手上做的事情(比如给别人发个connect message). It works (for me)!
