The link that you provided for Volvo worked so quickly and easily that I was truly amazingly surprised. I followed the link while watching this video of yours and upon entering the VIN, the code was displayed within seconds (literally) with a note that an email would follow with the code also. I had been given the wrong code by the owner and thought I would have to use the paid service or a dealer to get it. I had to do the 2-hour wait 3Xs after putting in the wrong code and the radio locked up. I was so impatient to try the new code after getting it, I immediately went out to the car (after midnight it was) to enter the code and BAM! It worked. Another success story from your advice, my friend. Kudos.

After my radio locked, I tried doing normal driving for a several days. My best result was when I put my switch in position one for two hours and thirty minutes. Make sure your car is in a secure location when doing this. Additionally, write your code on the top silver side of the radio, the glove box, and on a sheet of paper in glove box. Do not try guessing if you miss placed your code. It will save you a lot of time.

I was in the junkyard recently looking for a replacement radio. The yard didn't have the codes for any of the Volvo radios they had in stock on the shelf, but they let me search the Volvos in the yard. I lucked out with one - the owner's manual was in the car and on the page discussing the stereo systems, the original owner had left the radio code. So that's yet another place to look.

Hey Robert! I watched ur video today to insert the code i got from my local Volvo dealer for a SC-805. Went into a S70 1999. After inserting the code it shows the radio frequency for a second and then theres that sign TEL i mentioned earlier. Really hope u can help me out. Cheers!!!!

Bought a Used 95 850 And removed the battery for charging. Car wont start and the Alarm goes off when trying to start the car. I disconnected the siren and horn so I can troubleshoot without the horns going off. Does the radio code have anything to do with the Alarm system? I tried opened and closed all doors, hood, trunk and windows but still wont start. The red dot alarm light near the Radio flashes steadily, indicating that the alarm is operational. I did not try putting in the Radio code, which you brilliantly explain in this Video. (I'm thinking, what car maker would attach an alarm system to an engine, dependent upon a radio code?) Maybe if I put in the Radio Code (written down in my Owners Manual), the car may start, if the Radio is part of the Alarm system, that could be possible. I will go try it. Otherwise, I read mention on a Volvo Forum about Shorting out Pins 2111, 212 or some such trick to disable or reset the factory alarm on the ODBI connector. I'm not there yet, but that may be my next move after entering this Radio Code. Will Come back at ya, and Thanks!

The instructions said to pull the radio out, remove 3 screws from a strip on the side, then take a tooth pic or some other non metallic object and put in the a small rectangular hole and reset the radio. Push the button in and hold it a few seconds. I'll go pull mine and see if I can see it in about an hour to see how that works. If I find it I will post a video.

Hy Robert, 805 ; 3533775-1; VO0690 W9189001E I'm in Finland and here they ask 50€ for the code. And im not totally sure, that this radio is the one, that originally came with the car. Hopefully you can help me. I've searched the car from top to bottom but no code :(
Thefubeca12 Thanks for providing the link. Just got my code back from Volvo. They were most helpful.

Hi Robert I just bought a 99 c70 and the radio will not ask for a code at all even after doing what you recommended in this video. We even let the battery die. Still no Request for the code just says off. Any ideas of what we may be doing wrong?

Kayla Sanders No. You may want to turn off the driving lights. Are you leaving the radio ON? If all else fails, you can ship it to me to reset for you.

Yes the radio is left on. I'll try turning off the driving lights. What do you mean reset it?

I called my local dealer, I have to go to the place and show them the radio and my ID to get the code, but it's not that big of a deal since I live really close to it.

So, I have an anti-theft radio with two quick release buttons on the front that makes it easier to steal? Why didn't someone realize to skip this code junk and put a couple screws in that thing to hold it in in the event of a robbery?
@RobertDIY11 жыл бұрын
Since it has a security code, no one will steal it. Now you have a radio that you can remove quick and easily in the event that you need to pull it for any reason.
