Thanks for the info. I am moving there in December I have watched many vids on apartment rentals and cost of living. But I have yet to hear someone mention the actual rental qualifications, such as is the custom to ask for a deposit, how much, is there a background or credit check, application fees, what are the requirements and expectations? If you could fill in these blanks I'd greatly appreciated. As a U.S citizen woking for a U.S company does one need special visas or is a tourist visa good enough? Do property owners ask for proof of visas or permits? Kindest Regards Alex

I’m thinking of moving to PV or further south to Cuastecomates near San Patricio. However, Puerto Vallarta is my first choice since I’m familiar and my Ex lives there as well. Cuastecomates is right on the bay and is much quieter with just 5 minutes to San Patricio and 3 hours north to PV. I’m really leaning on making the move.

@@Pirulo3 not sure why Americans get to use a fancy word. 🤦🏽♀️
@Pirulo32 жыл бұрын
@@aamaro5719 ::: it’s not the Americans, it is the English language and it’s long history. It’s the lingua franca, the universal language of the world, as once Latin and Greek were. Maybe Mandarin will become it one day. The English language currently has the largest vocabulary -over a million words- and this is thanks to the contribution of many other languages, primarily Romance and Germanic ones. In this case, it’s not an effort to be fancy, much less with an informal noun as “expatriate” or it’s shortened version, “ex-pat,” it is in an effort to be efficient.
@anodyne576 ай бұрын
@@aamaro5719 Not necessarily. Expats are more immigrants of choice, enabled often by having the resources/means to do. "Immigrants" very often have made that choice out of necessity of circumstance. Of course there is, or can be, overlap between the two.

I would love to go back to Mexico to live, but not until the mask-mandate is gone. You have to wear a mask everywhere in Mexico… outdoors, while walking alone, at the beach, in stores. And yet, in the US it has been lifted completely. No masks required anywhere except in medical settings: hospitals, clinics and in a doctor’s office. I hope Mexico decides to do the same.

Oh rick, if only you knew how complicated our situation is. I made a few videos about this already, but we had moved out of PV in February after renting an apartment for a year. Martín is working on his greencard for the USA, and was supposed to have his interview for his visa in ciudad Juárez. I went back to the USA in the meantime. Then, COVID hit. Our plans changed dramatically and we actually got stuck apart for 3 months. Martín was at his hometown in Mexico and I was in California with all our stuff. The visa likely won’t come until 2021 now, so we decided to move back to Puerto Vallarta. However, since we don’t know when the visa appointment will happen, we can’t commit to a contract like we used to with an apartment. I wish we could, trust me. Renting on a month to month basis is just better for us right now. Actually, this whole COVID situation has changed my mindset completely, and I’d actually love to live in PV permanently. When we do move to the USA to pursue citizenship, we are going to work our butts off to save money for a house here. I encourage you to not judge someone based off a short few minute look into their life. You never know what someone is going through.
