Ok this is more of a guess, but since we know it is a quadrilateral, we can assume there is at least one triangle that can be formed and since we can see that AB and BC are just 16 times 4 (AB) and 16 times 3 (BC) we can notice that it is a 3-4-5 triangle giving us that it is indeed a right triangle. This also help us find AC=80 as it is just 16*5. From there it is just heron's formula and add the two areas of the triangle together.

The isosceles triangle, dividing 80 by 2, gives two right triangles :50, 40, 30, right? Só, 80x30/2=40x30=1200. Easy than Heron's :)

correct, here is two right angle triangle so same formula can be applied in both part of triangle but result will vary.The problem will be when angle between side is unknown therefore cosine formula is more suitable to calculate such type of Area. In my view this method is not appropriate.
