Ahhh, you gave me the itch to try and go through my mods folder again..... Every once in a while I try to clear some stuff out but I always give up halfway through. I have like 52 GB of mods and CC, my game is CHUGGING lmaoooo To anyone trying this, I would also suggest placing all mods and overrides in a different folder before loading the game up. Things like gameplay mods, default replacements and overrides, CAS background replacements... That way you can be sure you won't delete something important by accident and it could also make the game load faster while you go through the process :)

That is a great recommendation! Even with all my mods & CC my game has loaded pretty quickly until For Rent came out. 💀 I mostly wanted to reduce how much I scroll in CAS. Lol but I know this will be a huge help for those on an older PC or who have way more than I do!

LOL Google "Non-default Purple Hair Swatch by CarolB89" and you'll find the override I used for my Not So Berry Plum gen. That's honestly the easiest way imo! I've also found a few universal color overlays that *sometimes* work but I don't remember the creators off the top of my head.

Awesome video Kimba!!! I have a request! I was wondering if you could make a video explaining how to find and delete broken/outdated gameplay mods. I have soo many broken gameplay mods in my sims 4 game and i cannot for the life of me find which one’s are messing up my game. I haven’t been able to play for months without issues. Please help!!

Have you tried using Better Exceptions by TwistedMexi? It scans all your mods to find the ones that are not built for your current patch version. Just make sure to download the latest version and check the installation instructions ☺️ Another way is to use the 50/50 method. If you google that, you can find some guides to help you along. It's not too difficult, just a little time-consuming. Good luck with your mods! 🙏🏻

I may have a video that can help! In my Mods & CC playlist, I have one called "How To Safely Use Mods After A Patch" that goes over how I update my own mods after the game updates. @cloudprince0 also has a good suggestion with Better Exceptions and the 50/50 method, as annoying as it can be. 😅

Do we only delete those that are red? Or everything that's showing up in the Tray Importer?

The tray importer lists every piece of CC loaded on your Sim, so if you loaded your Sim with all the CC you wanted to remove from your game, you should delete it all. I just recommend looking at each folder you open to make sure you're not deleting any defaults. The red items specifically are ones that have missing dependencies and result in broken CC.
