@@SandraDi I make pillows. Throw pillows. I have a question. You said in your video that you started a new shop. I have an old shop from 2008. I want to start a fresh shop. I’m not sure whether I just add a new shop to my existing account or just start totally fresh?

@@lisacharron5973 you will have to create a new shop with a new email address because Etsy won't let you open 2 shops under 1 email address. I had to ask them because I wasn't able to lol the other option is you can change the name of your old shop and start from there but my personal opinion is that if it's brand new, start completely fresh and it just looks better when you recently opened your store and start getting sales as opposed to people thing it's been open for 12 years with not many sales. Does that make sense? :) That's totally my opinion on that!

Hi there new subbie! Congrats on baby 2! I have a question 5 months ago I had to put my thriving shop on vacation mode due to my dads passing. I sell personalized wedding ornaments and I sold over 400 in the first 3 months of opening this time last year. I was so so thrilled and happy. Sadly since I reopened 3 weeks ago my shop has tanked I have done everything I can think of to bring it back to life I’ve gotten sales but definitely nothing compared to what I used to make There’s a new competitor who only has 34 wedding ornaments and I have been keeping track of her sales in her shop and she’s makes 5-7 a day! I don’t understand why no one is coming back to my shop like before :( I have over 300 listings and I keep adding and tweaking My listings always rank on the first two pages I just don’t understand I am so tempted to shut this shop down and start all over If you have any tips for me that I haven’t already done it what may be going on I’d love your help Thanks so much! Hi! Absolutely love your videos. I'm currently working on my products and I plan to sell prints of my artwork. From what I've seen, a lot of my competition are selling very specific types of art/ subject matters. I notice which ones are doing well and which ones are not. You mentioned being able to customize products, and how that is doing super well on Etsy. I feel that, being an artist, I would be able to do just that. So I'm super excited!!

@@SandraDi Hi, so I've decided not to open up an Etsy shop due to all of the reviews that I've heard (and the fees that you have to pay). But I have sold a couple of prints through Facebook Marketplace so far, and I've done a few commissions as well. I'm thinking of leaning towards Shopify once I bring in more of an income =)

I know I looked into the fees as well before I started and I definitely want to open a shopify website as well in the near future but I think that's a little pricey as well right? The monthly fees are a little high based on what my 2 friends have told me (they have shopify sites) 🤔. I found that etsy's fees eventually even out to being roughly the same as your own site. Have you compared?

@@SandraDi I've compared the two as far as what I've looked up in my research. Almost everyone has said that Shopify is cheaper with fees compared to Etsy.

How do you even get seen on etsy if so many other people are selling the same type of item?

That’s the million dollar question! Luckily there’s an answer lol. It’s all about niche’ing down. Don’t try to get found in an over saturated category. Find one that is highly searched but not a whole lot of people are selling. Your competition will be so much lower and you will get found a lot easier. Then it’s just about having a great product, photos, and descriptions in order to make sales, get positive reviews, and rank higher than your competitors.
