Nice one Phil, great.hearing & seeing interesting history stuff like this...! So im assuming that there is or was a mill near this location....? What type of Stone/rock from Canada R these stones made of & where exacly did they originate from...? Fascinating stuff...😄👍

No, the millstones were transported all over the country. The Peak District is covered in trackways and "hollowways" which were used to get the millstones off the hills. They were taken by horse and cart usually to Hull where they were shipped onwards to other ports. They were made almost exclusively from the millstone grit that you see in the Peaks which is a coarse grained sandstone. Thank you for your kind words and comment.
