It's the typical campers issue, there's always a new bit of kit! Once you get into more extreme camping, you need stakes that will hold your tent down in all conditions!

Interesting video Phil. Always good to see what gear people are using with their wild camping. That drone channel wouldn't be Tech Drone Media at all? I found that channel to be very useful when I got my drone. He's a chap from Scandanavia I think.

Not sure if Ive replied to this Stu, Ive had a couple of funny issues with comments this week! I like almost all breeds of dog, but greyhounds are just so wonderful. The two bigger ones (Freddy and Albie) have great characters and are so affectionate.

Great vid, when I was growing up my friends brothers raced greyhounds, they were always very chilled until you let them of the lead to do their exercise (In a secure very large field) they had some very famous race wins with some of their dogs too. Their dog Chart King won the Derby in 1999.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss , getting out walking has helped me through difficult times. Some of my nest childhood memories are going outdoors walks, on adventures , I just have the one daughter so I started her off from a young age walking on outdoors adventure and like me they are some of her happiest memory's , great video , take care pal 🦇🦇🖤🖤

Thanks Kev, I wish I could take them all camping with me! Greyhounds just wouldnt make it up onto Kinder, but Freddy comes along on the milder camps sometimes.

I did enjoy that Phil. I agree with reducing size and weight - been figuring it out for a long time. I like the headlamp - not to pricey either. Mid you it's only 40 lumens. Re-the alcohol I don't drink so don't suffer that weight or waste. I imagine people's camera gear could do with taking a look at. It can be weighty. If a short trip a paper map will do as opposed to your Garmin. Well, good going - for sure I could lose some weight too. All the best. Mark

@@WyeExplorer thanks Mark, I don't think anyone ever finalises thier kit list. I've shaved a huge chunk off mine by getting a lighter tent and backpack. A beer is a nice celebration for me, but I'm considering just taking one instead of two. Thanks for the comment.

Grindsbrook isnt too bad but gets a bit crawly at the end. Grinslow or The Nab are easier but steep in bits

Great video Phil.👍 Near 4 Jacks is where I pitch when the weather is particularly bad up on Kinder. I usually camp just below the ruins of the old cabin, further downstream on a flat area where I think that the larger of the two buildings was situated. I've also been up the hill to visit one of the crash sites, although I'm not sure what type of aircraft it was, it must have been an old one as it still had visible crosswires on the wing struts. Cheers for the vid' mate, I enjoyed watching that.🙂

@@PhilWaud It's around 200 to 300 yards downstream from the ruins Phil, I imagine that you probably walked right past it, if you followed the river up to the ruins. I think that the last time that I was there was around 4 months ago, in the video titled; Up the Knoll & down the Nab.👍

Great video , I love your ale reviews, I always carry a few little paper slips with my KZbin details on in my wallet , they come in handy , and work well! . the whole area between Glossop and Sheffield is like a Bermuda triangle of lost planes , a lot of them in my own experience are extremely difficult to find , due to most of the aircraft burning , and people taking souvenirs over the years sadly . A couple I have found , the planes remains could fit on a dinner plate , so like a needle in a haystack. Best wishes pal 🦇🦇🖤🖤

Thanks Gav, yeah, for some reason I thought four jacks was round the back somewhere, but thinking about it, I remember Andy Beevers talking about it being on Grindsbrook. Weather has been spot on for my last four or five camps - that bound not to last!

I've now seen everyone's different take on what looked like such a wonderful adventure. I just wanted to say Phil.. when you realised your camera had gone and you weren't getting it back, you must have been devastated.. it must have been such a horrible feeling. So, to get yourself together and to feel that you couldn't miss out on what would be such a memorable adventure, and get back up there the next day.. good on you mate and bet you're so glad you did. You are right, it was awful. I couldnt understand how Id been so careless and just couldnt stay that night, but my lovely family gave me such encouragement and persuaded me to go back. It was a fantastic camp and we have all forged some brilliant friendships! Thanks for the comment!

That was a brilliant relaxing bit of viewing to watch Phil. The inclusion of that drone footage really added to the cinematic effect. I think that it was great of you, to not let the loss of your camera get you down. Instead you bought another, and with a smile on your face, you re-joined the camp on the following day.👍 It was great to meet you Phil, I really enjoyed your company and we shared a few laughs together. @@Glossopwildcamp The first scene was with my phone. As I explain in the video, I set off home because I was so pissed off. My daughters were urging me to go back, so I agreed to return for the second night. They then said they would buy me a new camera, which had me in tears! I picked it up from Argos on the way back to Edale.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your camera. I have fond memories of Kinder Downfall from when I first did the Pennine Way in 1987. The route then went up Grindsbrook Clough, through Kinder gates to the downfall. I remember thinking it was the most amazing spot ( and still have the picture ). Looked like a great camp. Oh and the poles will help with the airflow and separation. When I backpack with Judith I use her walking poles to pull it out.

It makes a change to actually get the drone in the air! That little gadget of yours reigns supreme for easy deployment - the DJI is a five minute set up!
