I have since watched more of your videos and I really would first of all like to apologize for the comment about you being high. " I am sorry . " You are how ever a little bit of a goof ball and I mean that in a good way. I wasn't ready for your personality. You seem to be having a good time and that is rare. There are a lot of people trying to look like they are having a good time but I really think you might be enjoying yourself. I would also like to comment on your teaching, I have been playing guitar for over 40 years but I have managed to learn from you. Your teaching is good and is geared towards all ages and abilities. Some of the things you teach I haven't seen anywhere else. I am glad I didn't stop watching after my first impression. Keep up the good work brother. God Bless

Major 1 or 4 are built in these thirds: major minor major (half step to octave). Minor 2, 4, and 6 are built minor major minor (whole step to octave). The 5th and 7th are unique, 5 = major minor minor, and coming out of 2/3 of that is the 7th: minor minor major. (Both with a whole step to octave).

Thanks Sean! A very cool little inversion lesson that I think will lend itself to short motif building. I have been playing for a very long time but, my lumbar spine is so degenerated that long practice sessions just aren't on most days. I still gotta play but it has to be in short bits. I am always looking for new ideas to dink around with that lend themselves to short sessions. This fits the bill. I promise to help you get your recognition boosted in return for this sweet little lesson and others. When I first began to learn guitar there was no internet, not even DARPA net. You either listened to a vinyl recording repeatedly, bought a book that seldom matched what was on the recording, took lessons which generally forced you to go through some lesson plan or begged a better player to throttle back and show you cool stuff. Thanks for the access to cool stuff.

I finally got around to watching this again as I saved it on my queue. I watched it before, but really woodshedding with my guitar the other day this all locked in and made sense! Not only did it just really make sense as I'm learning the note locations on the neck, but it helped learning that the first two triads shown are kind of abbreviations or shortenings of E shape and C shape barre chords that make G Major. The last one just plain makes sense because the 12th fret is the octave of the open strings, those middle three making a second inversion G Major chord anyway. And knowing that this can transfer for other chords across the neck is so handy! Thanks, Sean!
@johng28804 жыл бұрын
It's always cool when you've "got" something on the guitar, then realize that it's linked to something else you know, like the way these triad shapes are parts of the barre chords we already know. More and more of the puzzle pieces fit together.

Keys are just Pitch....just pretend the CAPO is at second fret. You can play C Maj7....D maj7....B min or less the Root on a string.. C maj7 = inverted E min...D maj7 inverted F# min Or you can simply play the C Maj ( it'll just be the N6) You can also modulate to the nearest key on PAPER. G.......D.......A ( D Major is at Center) Just play B min....C# min F # min B phry B aeo....B dor or B min C# min E7 F#7 into B min ( Melodic minor) But you can cycle lower use the C Maj chord C Maj....F Maj Emin A7 into D MAJOR using the N6 as a guide to cycle down C lydian....C ion.....C Mix once you see it or hear it...you'll never forget..lol It's easier than you think....you just have to know other scales exist and use them. You can also easily reach over and play the Bb note D Harmonic MAJOR = Ion b6 ( Bb). play descending notes on the A string....while holding the D note on B string C, B, Bb, A5 ...or A7 into D maj...ect or play the F# note on the D string.. Play this on the A string......E, ,D, B, A....then Play G 3, 7.... F# E on Low E string.... ot play the C note if you want You can play A#/Bb dim into B min....and or C# dim into D MAJOR or D min D min....A min G min F#7 into B min...or F# min to B min or even sub the C with C min.lol C min G min F min ( descend) ascend ........E min F# min B min.
