How To Find The Magical Bamboo Forest - East Palisades Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area

The Indian Trail East Palisades is by far one of the best places to hike in Atlanta! In this video, we hike the entire 4 mile loop and showcase how to find the magical bamboo forest.

It is awesome to have so many national recreation areas within a few miles of my house. What makes this place so cool is that no development has happened since the 70's so you feel like you are in the mountains when you are in the middle of the city. One of my favorite spots in Atlanta! I've been going to Akers Mill a lot now because there is a lot more available parking at the trailhead. In the weekends, it is tough to find a spot a the East Palisades. Thanks for watching and the support!

Nice reward to see a bamboo forest on a hike. When I was in the Coast Guard on Maui, there was a bamboo forest a trail went through that was so thick, if you went in about 15 feet, another person could not see you through the trees. Thanks for sharing!

This area can be hard to navigate. Best to go super early and during the week if you can. I like it the best in the fall.

A couple people almost stepped right on it. I was able to get it to get off the main trail but my glasses fell off right next to it. So I had to do the snake dance to get them back. Slippery little snake

We parked at the Indian Trail East Palisades parking lot. The Indian Trail Parking lot has limited spaces and costs $5 per day or requires the Chattahoochee River or America The Beautiful National Parking Pass.
